I have placed an ad in the paper for cat trees to refurbish. I have some carpet that I'm not using and have instructions for putting carpet on cat trees. This should save me some money and give the kitties a new toy!
We plan to strip off all the old carpet and rope. Sponge on bleach water and let it sun dry. Replace the rope and carpet. Viola! a "new" free cat tree!
I may be totally off the wall, but I would worry about the red dye in the carpet. If you have small kittens that would tend to try and eat the carpet threads, I would pass.
it looks like a nice tree to me, i think the kitties would like, that is interesting about the red dye that hissy was talking about, i never even thought about that
I think it's got a lot of great features...my only concern (cause I have BIG kitties who love to do flying leaps onto their cat trees) would be stability with one or more cats leaping onto it.
I wish the base came out just a bit more.
I look forward to hearing if you get it and how your kitties like it!
Pat and Alix P. Curl (who thinks I should be shopping for a new tree for her!)
