Father's day is coming. I wish I could my greet my dad a "Happy Father's Day!" but that's impossible, dad passed away last year.

So I'm greeting every father in this forum a Happy father's day!

Over the river and through the woods...
My condolences to both of you, and to everyone that has lost their father. I lost my dad in 2002, and I would like to tell you that days like this get eaiser....but they really don't. You just learn to deal with them better and they become bittersweet with memories.

Just because my dad is no longer with me, doesn't mean I can't wish him a happy father's day because he is still my father. I try to do something that reminds me of him and he would have enjoyed. Even if it's just looking at pictures and going through memories on my own. Yes, there are tears, but the memories are worth it. It just makes me feel closer to him.

Since my dad passed I have started learning to play the guitar in his honor. He was very musical and tried to interest me and my two sisters when we were children. Now I wish I had done it when he was living. But I know he is in Heaven and I believe he knows what I am doing. When I sing and play my guitar, I feel closer to him.
