I have a black and white male cat outside, who's been around for a couple years now I'd guess, and then a few months ago along came two females, one black and bob-tailed and one a gray and white tabby. Well, Rocky isn't fixed (The black and white) but I'm fairly sure the two females are (But who knows).

We've had squabbles over who is going to eat where and Rocky wants all of their food, he's a little miffed they are there.

Just had to tell you guys that as Rocky sat on the railing of my porch, I was trying to get a catepillar (The stinging kind) off the porch with a light yellow plastic bowl. While I was bent down, right in front of Rocky, he reached out and popped me in the back of the head, WITH claws. HARD.

I straightened up holding the back of my head, I was so shocked, he had NEVER done anything like that before. I know now that he wants a piece of the black female (Bobby-Joe, cause of her tail) and couldn't care less about Mississippi (Gray and white tabby female, very shy, end of her tail is crooked, so, M i crooked letter crooked letter , etc etc) but I musta got in the way of something because it SMARTED!

he didn't draw blood, but I poured alcohol over the back of my head just to be sure. Who knows what he does or doesn't have, I don't have the money to figure out just yet, but I'll be darned it that wasn't the fitting end to this day! These five "kids" of mine are going to run me into the ground!

Mississippi looked at me like "Aw guys stop fighting, please!?" And Rocky chased Bobby-Joe into the woods. They don't fight, they just hiss and growl and howl. So I am guessing he is looking for some lovin'. Don't know. Anyway. So I got backhanded (A more polite term than I was using outloud) by a cat today. I am going to bed. LOL

I am going to update my cat pages, because it seems as if I have gained three more children. Might as well give up the fight and admit it... so, will try to work them into the budget

Oh I'm fine! Been through way worse with cats! It just stunned me that he would do such a thing! He didn't even get through the skin, no blood, but alcohol'd it to be safe. Well you know the saying, if every day is a sunny day then what's a sunny day!!!

Over the river and through the woods...
Oh, it was just a "little" reminder of who is KING in his territory.
Outdoor cats (strays, ferals, whatever you want to call them) are always and experience. We have probably 15-20 barn cats that we are feeding outside and the pecking order is clear. I've found more plates is best. If you're feeding 3 different cats put out 3 plates. I get good sturdy ones at good will for about $0.30 each. Use the same amount of food but they each get their share. You may have to stand in the middle and shoo away the male if he starts to go over to the females plates. I've played referee many times.

Just wait until you have a feral kitten that you've been trying to socialize decide you are a tree and climb up your jeans, shirt and get stuck in your hair because something spooked him. Then he looks at you and realizes he has climbed the "evil human" and can't get out! Talk about a fun experience! I still have the kitten claw marks on my back and neck to prove it. Gotta love 'em!

Omgoodness Calico! I couldn't imagine that! I've had kittens climb my pant legs but never farther than that, ouch!!

I do put out separate plates for all of them, and feed them in different areas. Bobbie-Jo and Mississippi get fed out in the yard and Rocky (Which I named him as such because he was such a sook and didn't LIKE to fight, ha ha joke is on me!) is fed up on the porch on the patio table. Well now they are both into each other's plates and I just can't stand out there all morning yapping at them. Bobbie and Missi are still very very shy of me and run if I even cough.
But we will work something out At least the back of my head doesn't hurt. I wonder if Rocky will not show his face for a couple days after the cussing fit I had after that LOL!! "I can't believe you did that to me don't you ever do that to me!!" Ohhh I was so shocked. I am hoping Bobbie isn't pregnant, but she is kinda chunky :T
