Neko's yearly exam is coming up next month and I'm trying to decide between a Cat Hospital or an Alternative Veterinary Hospital. Both are at a reasonable distance. I didn't have the best of service at the vet who saw her as a kitten last July so....

Holistic vet: http://www.alternativeveterinaryhospital.com/
Cat Vet: http://cat-hospital.net/

What is your experience with alternative/cat only vets??

Thank you!!

The Hebron Cat Hospital has testimonials from clients. Of course I'm sure there's never a 100% satisfied group of customers, but I like the Hebron Cat Hospital, especially since it's geared especially towards cats. Would be less stressful in there too, probably. Hmmm. Let us know what you do and how it goes!! Let me EDIT: I WISH I had a cat only vet nearby (I don't know of any closeby) but I've had no experience with holistic or cat only vets, unfortunately.

I didn't vote because we have both dogs and cats. We had used a Vet that was recommended just a few blocks away. Well, we had an incident that made us find another Vet. One was recommended but was almost 20 miles away.

I must say now that the drive is the least of my concerns. When you find the RIGHT Vet to care for your loved ones, it may not be just a cat Vet, or holistic, or a hospital, but maybe just a clinic.

My major factor is a vet who listens and understands I have many cats. All are fixed and never did any of mine breed. I found a regular vet(cat/dogs only) that I loved as nothing was said when I would choose to put a cat to sleep rather then spend money on surgery with a low rate of the cat being normal.

Since the cat only vet needs only one sized things you MIGHT see a better pricing on procedures. I never did go to a cat only vet as it was to far away but when I called for quote on teeth cleaning I remember that being a factor.

I like the natural vet page you linked as they say they do treat with natural and regular drugs so to give you a best of both worlds. I would just make sure they have a good setup for blood/urine work for faster treatment of say a urinary tract infection and the like. They also have better hours which surprised me. Do take note of thier er vet if you go with them.

Just loaded the rules for natural place-if you have young kids they write they would rather they stay home. just something to consider if you have/take care of kids. I would make sure you read the rules section.

Thanks everyone for your input!! I think I am leaning more towards the cat only vet. I do like the fact that it may be less stressful for Neko and that i may see better prices as you've mentioned! If they treat us well, GREAT; if not, we'll check out the holistic!
Thanks again and i'll let you know how it goes
