Probably Nothing but I saw something STRANGE!

Okay this may be nothing but Smokie was cleaning himself and I saw some reddish pointy thing come out. It was out for about 20 seconds or so and then I went to check again and it disappeared. I immediately tried to do research on the internet. Apparently this is the penis? I tried to look up pictures on the internet. His was reddish. The ones I saw through Google didn't look that red. This IS what I saw right?? Being with Smokie's condition I was pannicing thinking "OMG he's having some kind of blood clot or something." But when I looked on the internet I saw what it was. I was more calm.
I've read that it's supposed to come out when they are cleaning. But in the 9 years I've had him I have NEVER seen that. This was a first for me. They say it's normal. Should I be concerned that it looked red?

Yes that is his penis. Red is the normal color. As long as it goes back in, it's not anything to worry about. You are a good observant cat parent.

It supposed to be red and very red at that. I see Nuts's when he cleans and it's always bright red so are all the other boys.

Okay good. LOL I just had never seen it and when I did I was like having a heart attack. LOL I have another boy Charlie (aka JR) and I've never seen his either. So now I know. and feel better ! LOL

Yes you are very observant I remember when I was younger and saw one for the first time it freaked me out! Boo doesn't have one anymore so there is nothing to see

I've had 7 male cats, and only seen one of their penises (sp?). I guess all the other's were shy!!

I've only seen Scotty's, and that was right after his neuter, which I why I was looking back there a lot, LOL. I was surprised, too.
