Just kidding...but I do prefer female doctors, I just think they are more in tune with what is happening with female hormones, etc...male doctors just can't sympathize. Maybe some can but I haven't met any who could. My experience with my male dermatologist treating my hormonal acne wasn't all that great for example
Neither. I haven't been to an actual family doctor in years and years. The student health plan I had required that we go to the health clinic on campus, which was usually a big waste of time, so I haven't been to the doctor in ages. Now that a have a job with a decent insurance plan again, I'll probably be trying to find a decent doctor soon.
It changes every 3 years. We use a training facility where the 'new' doctors do their internship. We've had a female for the last 3 years, but she's leaving this month.
Female. I don't really have a preference, but I would like a doctor who is from here or at least one who can speak English without a thick accent. My current one is from Sri Lanka and with her accent it's difficult to understand her.
My last personal physician was female, but I have switched to a new male doctor. My GYN doctor is male, too. They both are quite good and know their stuff.....that's of primary importance to me, more so than what gender they are.
Male. I do have a preference but it depends on the speciality. FOr example I like my family doc he has been my doc since I was a teenager. For my OB-GYN I prefer a female for obvious reasons. BUT for Orthopedics I prefer a male.
