He Put WHAT in My Hand?!

I was sitting at the desk yesterday when DH walks up to me and says, "Put out your hand." Now, usually when he does that it means he's got an interesting coin to show me. So, out goes my hand. He says, "Look what I found on the stairway" and drops a black and yellow object on my palm. I looked at it for a moment, my eyes got big, and I said, "Why are you giving me a dead yellow jacket?!" DH bends down to look at it and says, "Oh, I thought it was a fake one that you use in your crafts." He picked it back up and threw it in the wastebasket.
I spent the rest of the day wiping my palm on my jeans and shuddering. Ugh!

Okay, it's semi-amusing now but believe me, it wasn't while I was sitting there staring at the thing!

Years ago, when my DS was very young, about seven years old, I was in the basement doing laundry. Little boys love to collect things and they love to keep things in their pockets.

So, there I was in the basement, sorting through the clothes and checking pockets. When I got to DS's jeans, I stuck my hand in his pocket and.......touched fur. I pulled out a dead mouse! (I really, really don't like mice.....dead or alive.)

DH and DS were upstairs and they heard me yelling (heck, they probably heard me yelling up on Pluto) and DH said I made the basement steps in two leaps. They thought it was hilarious. I was not amused.

To this day, DH yells at me because I do not check pants pockets when I do laundry. But there is no way I'm stickin' my hand in any pocket anywhere at any time.

Ewwwwwwwwwww! I would freak out!
