Coco had her last dose of injectible Reglan at lunch on Friday. She has been off all anti nausea meds since Friday night. She started eating on her own again Friday night, and has been ever since. As of this morning, she is no longer requiring IV fluids to keep hydrated.
At our visit yesterday, she was playful and purring. The office is closed on Sundays, but the on call vet did call to let us know that the IV has been removed and she had her first BM in a week. Things are looking good for her to come home tomorrow afternoon.
Now we wait on her biopsy results. Her liver numbers have continued to drop as she has started picking back up on her eating. The vet described her liver as mottled, and thinks we may have caught fatty liver disease in the very early stages.
For now, we're going with the pill treatment for her hyperthyroidism. Surgery may be an option in the future, but we want to give her plenty of time to recover from the surgery and illnesses of the past week.
