I'm shaking right now. I'm sorry for not being more positive. I've been pretty busy lately with my job, and Shade's birthday today

My brother was coming home from a small town a few miles away, when his tire blew. He lost control of the car, and hit a sign. He possibly broke his hand. He is a bass player in 2 bands, and that is very very bad. I think he is okay, but I am so freaked out. He is my best friend, and my brother. He is what I have left of my blood family (immediate) after my mom passed.

His girlfriend says he's okay, but ... I just need to see and talk to him to be sure.

If you can spare some vibes for him, he could use them.

Thank you.

Be safe.

to your brother. Hopefully he went to the ER and had his hand treated?

Man, that's enough to shake you up.

For those who haven't been trained on the subject yet, here's something that you won't know if you aren't told.

If you blow out a tire, keep your foot on the gas, accelerating slightly, until you vehicle is stable and you can coast to a stop. DO NOT TOUCH THE BRAKES until you are certain you are completely under control. The blown tire will have much different braking characteristics and is very likely to pull you out of control.

This is so counter-intuitive, it has to be taught to all professional drivers.

I don't know what is going on. I am confused and hurt right now. I was told I would be picked up and taken to the hospital to see him. I wait for well over an hour, then get a nasty txt saying I am not supposed to tell anyone. *Shrugz* I guess there is more to it then I know.

I just know a tire blew, he lost control, he hit a sign, his hand is probably broke, and his car is probably totaled. I am sitting here wondering what is going on. Maybe I should have run out to my stepmom's house to know what's up... Nobody has told me if he is at the hospital or not. Nobody has even said anything to me, other then don't tell anyone. That was after the fact. Maybe I should just go about my day like nothing happened?!?!?!?

Thank you for the tip on blown tires. Not sure I would remember that if it happened to me, but maybe having read that, it will pop into my head. I've never blown a tire while I was driving.

I'm just glad none of my family come here, I bet I woud really get a tongue lashing from my stepmom if she saw this... *shrugz* life was simple once upon a time.

Thank you all for vibes. I know he got hurt, I don't understand why I don't know anything. Maybe I shouldn't.

Be safe.

Well that's rotten.
I'd try again to figure out what is going on, any update at all. But if they're not going to even attempt to include you and keep treating you that way - go about your day and try again tomorrow or the next day. It may very well be that everyone has forgotten manners out of stress.

I hope he's ok. At the very least, aside from his hand, he probably has some pretty nasty whiplash.

A blown tire is a good excuse to use to save face in the light of some other kind of accident. I think your instincts are right that they are hiding things from you, especially if he chooses not to get medical attention.

Well... finally got to the hospital. He has a sprained ankle and wrist. He's got scrapes, and cut his lip open on the inside...

He left the scene of the accident last night. That's why it was all hush hush. I don't know why he left the scene. He was returning home from a gig last night, and his tire blew, lost control and hit a sign. The cops had already towed his car by this morning, and it is impounded with his bass in it.

Thank you all

His girlfriend just made everything sound much more awful then it was.

Be safe.

But I'll bet you can guess why he left the scene, can't you?

It hurts just thinking about a musician hurting his hand!

I'm glad it's not as bad as you thought it was. I hope he makes a fast recovery.

It's the worst for guitar/bass/keyboard players. The smallest injury has a huge impact on your playing. I know from experience. I slipped at work a few years ago and instinctively grabbed a nearby fence to try to catch myself. Too bad it was barbed wire
. And to make it worse, I had a show to perform 2 days later.

Sweetie, I'm glad it appears that your brother will be ok. I'm sure that's a big load off your mind. I must say, it sounds as if the gf didn't handle the situation very well. You are, after all, his sister who loves him.
that he recovers soon and a (((BIG HUG))) to you for caring so much.
