I have some exciting news...I went to the cat rescue today to pick up Tommy...and I came home with Tommy and Bella (who I've renamed Cecilia).
(A little background...my friend's cat rescue is likely having to close its doors due to lack of funding (unless things pick up)after quite a few years of being open and helping countless kitties find homes. That's why I decided to take in more so long as they do ok with my other furbabies).

Yes, I'm officially a crazy cat lady
Tommy is an 8 yr old CRF kitty. He is a gorgeous little Maine Coon and is quite the talker. Cecilia is a beautiful tortishell that we think is about 20 yr old (if not older). They're both special needs and both adorable! Cecilia (Bella) was even featured recently in a local TV add for abandoned animals in our area....scroll down to the VERY bottom of the website and click the video on the right. http://www.houseofmews.com/ She is the very first kitty in the clip.

I'll be posting pictures once they settle in a bit!
I'm fostering them for a week to see how they acclimate with my other furbabies. If all goes well, they're all mine!

Thankyou for your kind words everyone
The kitties are doing well so far! I just posted in the PL about them, so I thought I would post a little update here as well!

Tommy (the Maine Coon) seems to be my little shadow- he is following me EVERYWHERE and screams to be held and loved on
It's really sweet!
He is really outgoing and greeted several of my friends that came over to see him and Cecilia today! (He'll run right up to people and headbutt them for attention.) Tommy seems to really like the puppy as well- they both laid down near each other earlier tonight and took a nap.
He loves the cat tree and is getting along really with my my other 3 kitties and my puppy, Ranger. I have him his meds a little while ago and he did really well for that, so I'm thankfull he's a very cooperative kitty!!

Cecilia (The Simon & Garfunkel song "Cecilia" was playing while I was driving with them in the car and I thought it suited her
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvlM6...eature=related) is starting to settle in as well. I've fixed her up several nice, quiet spots to lay down in and she seems to be relaxing and adjusting to the new place well. Cecilia is a bossy little thing too- she smacks me with her paw when she wants me to hold her (she's a snuggler), she doesn't like to be brushed, and she is quite demanding when it comes to her food!
( She's sassy-Typical torti!). I'm planning to take her on Monday to be groomed and bathed, so I'm hoping that makes her feel a lot better! (She's 20 and no longer grooms herself, so even though she is a short-hair, she matts easily).

Keep sending vibes that they continue to acclimate well! I'll be fostering them both for a week before I let my friend know if I plan to keep them. At this rate, I'm planning to keep them both if they continue to do well and get along well with my existing furbabies! Kojak, Isabella, and Velvet have all been very accepting of the two new additions so far and seem to be doing well with the changes. I did the Vanilla trick on all of them and tried to keep things calm in my home with the feliway diffusers, catnip, treats, etc....so far so good!

Here are a few pictures from their first day at home:

Awwww, bless. I love that you adopted a 20-year old kitty - and a CRF kitty! It sounds like they're fitting in really well!!!

I agree that it's wonderful that you've given Tommy & Cecilia a loving home. It sounds as if they're settling in well. I love the photo of Tommy & the cat tree. Even though you can't see his face you can tell he's thinking 'Wow!'

Thankyou everyone for your kind words!
So far so good with the new furbabies! Tommy is my little buddy and is quite the snuggler- he follows me EVERYWHERE too...which is funny because the puppy does as well...so now I have a puppy and a cat following me everwhere I go.
Tommy is also smart as a whip- when I walked into the kitchen this morning, he had opened every single cabinent on the bottom level of my kitchen! He's going to be naughty I think!

Cecilia is resting a lot today (and at her age, I can't blame her for wanting a little nap!). She has Feline Gingivostomatitis, and gets a shot once a month to help with it. Other than that, she seems to be aging just beautifully! I will try to get some new pictures of her later! She is quite the little piggy and adores dinner time. I'm taking her tomorrow afternoon to be groomed/bathed and I'm hoping that will make her feel a lot better!

Cecilia was being aloof earlier, so I only managed to get a few pictures of Tommy..

Here are a few new pictures of Tommy!
(I'll try to get some new pictures of little Cecilia later)

Tommy and my Aussie pup, Ranger....they're becomming fast friends! (they even took a nap together last night

They are 2 very lucky kitties to have found such a loving rescuer with an accepting fur family. Bless you for taking them in. I wish I had the resources to adopt a senior.

Thankyou both! Fortunately, the shelter I help out with & the vets that help them donate their services/etc...so I'm not out anything as far as financial means go (food, medication, IV fluids,etc...all covered- which makes me able to take in the special needs babies I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.)

Cecilia decided to cooperate last night (well..sort of lol) so here are two pictures of my sweet little girl! She's going in this week to be bathed/groomed! I tried to get her in today, but the soonest I could get an appointment is Wednesday...you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find ANYONE in this huge city that works with senior cats!
In the mean time though, I've cleaned her up as best as I can without having the proper grooming tools to shave her here. She's such a sweet girl!

At this point, I'm pretty sure they're both "officially staying"
Last night when I went to the petstore to pick up a few things, I made ID tags for them both...yes, I am a sucker!

Glad to hear that you've made name tags - so that pretty much makes it official!! My George is a Maine Coon and he follows me into every room - always needing to be close by. And Ellie the Tortie also has attitude! Cracks me up that you mentioned that

I'm so happy that a 20 yr old rescue kitty has found a good home (so sad to hear that she even needed to find a new home!).

Good vibes to all!
