I noticed that all the Friskies canned foods say to feed 3/4 oz. to 1 oz. per pound of bodyweight. I can't figure out how the shredded varieties can contain as many kcals as the pate/loaf varieties. The shredded ones are full of gravy and don't have much meat. The loaf/pate varieties are full of meat and have little gravy. Can anyone explain this?
I'm asking because my sick cat prefers the shredded varieties. She'll easily finish off two cans per day. But with the pate/loaf, I have trouble getting her to eat just one can.
