for anyone interested. My bunion operation went very well. My toe is all ouchy now but that's to be expected. Just a small question, why on the medicine bottles such as for pain and antibiotics do they feel it's necessary to point out that you take the medicine BY MOUTH? I may not be the sharpest card in the deck but I know that's how you take it. How else would you take it, by ear?

Glad you're doing OK. Hope you have a quick recovery.

As for the medicine question, I recall an incident years ago when my brother was tutoring COLLEGE students from Thailand. One commented about how hard it was to swallow the pills she'd been given. She showed him the bottle and it was then that he had to inform them that they were not pills, but suppositories.

Happy healing!

Glad to hear the procedure went smoothly and yer back home and recovering!! I often thought it was silly that Rx bottles tell you to take 1 pill by mouth, etc etc.. haha, I never really thought about the alternative!!

How long will you be off your feet?? I had a co-worker who has bunion surgery and was told she would have a cast for 6 weeks with no walking?

My doctor said that my shoe and bandages will be coming off in about two weeks, I can walk, just not much. One of my cats , Gracie, is scared to death of the shoe I'm wearing!

Glad your surgery went well. The reason the information on the bottle tells you how to take it even though you do know is that there are "people" lurking out there that would love to take on a case that someone had taken something wrong and had some issues that may have caused harm to them and the"person" saw $1 signs. Remember the person who sued McDonald's a few years ago that spilt hot coffee on their lap and because the cup didn't say HOT on it she had a case. Pretty sad isn't it. I worked in a Pharmacy at one time and the perscriptions always contained the words "by mouth" or the latin version of that "per os".
