I just LOVED looking at all those pretty pictures of beautiful cats! But I was just wondering...

since it looks like you must live in a large hi-rise, do you worry about one of your cats getting too close to the edge of the balcony and accidently falling?

Beautiful cats!

I'm with you guys, I saw that and thought "OMG I'd be scared to death they'd get too curious and fall."

I already get nervous when I see my boys playing on the edge of the staircase. I fret about them falling off that and its only a 5-6 ft drop.

I know....
if you notice, in some of the pictures (esp the one in your post) there's a sort of string net we've put up between the ledge and the bar. This is to stop them from leaning over (as in through the string). So far it's worked very well.I don't think they like the feeling of squeezing their head through string. And I've only seen Zooey look over while standing on her hind legs ONCE and never again as I was watering the plants at the time and chucked half a bucket of water over her. She wasn't happy about it, but she hasn't done it since

What's good is that they all play like lunatics IN the apartment, but as soon as they get OUT on the balcony, more specifically onto the ledge all playing grinds to a screeching halt and they all just sort of sit there...
sometimes they groom each other, and bat each other's tail, but that's about it. They just sort of sit there and preside over their kingdom.

But we never leave the balcony door open when we're not home, and i am ALWAYS on the balcony or in the living room when they're out there.

And of course, we never ever leave the windows open.

I don't wanna jinx the luck we've had so far, but, I think they'll be okay so long as we don't get complacent about them being on the balcony.

And the balcony is like their little garden... It's got cat grass, a little log, clover, some vines that hang overhead, flowers, and i'm thinking of getting a little fountain for them... *sigh... I wish we had a real garden though.
That'd be SO nice. Does anyone know of any other plants I could grow for them?
