Since the vet yesterday I have not seen Smokie throw up once, which is good news!
I gave him his medicine this morning which was some what of a challenge. The first dose I gave him he fought me on. Then tried licking the syringe on his own. I thought maybe then he'd lick it from a spoon if I put the second dose in there. Nope he didn't want it. So I had to hold him and put it in his mouth. Tomorrow I'm using baby food. It's soooo much easier lol

This morning I watched him eat and drink. How much water should a cat normally have if they are on dry food? He sat there this morning for almost a minute drinking. I've put a water bowl upstairs that I put some filtered water in for them. He was crying around lunch at the bowl which still had water in it. I think he was wanting milk because I was poring a glass for myself. But he wouldn't drink the water. They LOVE milk but I only give them some once in a while because I know that it can give them bowel issues.

So question, should I be concerned that he's wanting the milk but won't drink the water upstairs? I'm super paranoid now. I was online before taking him to the vet to see what was said about cats throwing up a lot. Of course I read that it could bean IBD, Liver Failure, Cancer etc and was all freaked out. I don't normally watch how much water he drinks because he's always been pretty healthy. But now I'm watching him like a hawk. I'm questioning everything he does. Thinking to myself "is this normal? Should I be concerned?"

I've been following him around the house when he goes downstairs to see if he's eating, going to the bathroom, drinking etc. He did go to the bathroom. But not sure how much is normal at one time. It didn't look like a lot but then again it's clumping cat litter so, it soaks in.

I'll probably try to secure a room to put him in within the next two days so I can see exactly how much water he's drinking and how much he's going to the bathroom. We have two rooms in the basement but they are being remodeled so we'll have to clean one of them up enough so that he can be in it for 24 hours for observation.

But he seems to be okay and not throwing up anymore. So I guess I should be happy that he's doing better. Wish I could just quit worrying lol
