I volunteered to take in one of my neighbors kittens after her indoor/outdoor cat had a litter of 4. its a girl and her name is lucy. nieghbor says they are all weaned and ready to go, they were very friendly and eager to explore- now lucys with me and shes not eatting even though we are right nxt door. She says she feeds them hARD food sophi cat? i got iams kitten avaible all the time and sophicat wet but she doesnt want to eat. so the nxt morining i take he to the patio w/food so she can play with her sibs and see mom. her big bro eats all the food and growls at the others, which is why i didnt get him.brat. I ask the neighbor whats wrong and she says along with the catfood they get grilled chicken shredded and steak. Maybe lucy misses real food, im sorry but i cant make those things since being a collge student im on a ramen-noodle diet, will she strave herself?. I also have a chihua who she doesnt like, the dog could care less but she INSISTS on running up to the dog an hissing/swipe (dog on leash after 3 days) im trying not to break my dogs schedule or create jelously so the get roatated with my time, 30mins each and take turns sleeping with eacothers blankets. Lucy will drink out of the dog waterbowel (while glaring) and will munch on the wet dog food. Why will she eat dog food and not cat, i know i shouldnt let her cause she needs the taurine. So because she might pee on the floor while im at school she goes to the neighbors to b with her family (babysitter), im hoping she eat there cause she doesnt like my stuff.

I don't mean to sound harsh but I think you should really consider if you can afford all the costs of a cat. If you're having trouble moneywise and surviving on ramen, maybe its best if you wait on having a kitten? I know it's really hard to wait- I had to save for three years to be comfortable enough having a kitten.

If you do plan on keeping the kitten, don't let her eat the dog food. Buy her various types of wet food and see what she'll eat. You should take her for her kitten shots soon anyway, so ask your vet if there might be a medical reason.

well i do plan on keeping her shes i nice kitty (stubbern), iv had a cat before and i am able to care for her properly, i already waited three months deciding if this was the right fit for me and considered various other pets, i can take care of her i already had food and supplies a month before i got her and been playing with her everyday so they are familar with me. I may not take care of myself very well but i give my pets everything including the best healthcare i can affored. im even attempting to get the momma cat fixed (or alest provide info to the owner)when i take her in through the humanes societys fix program when shes alitle older. she has a vet appointment nxt wk for a deworm and vaccs i belive its just internet is more readily avaible

If you have a vet appointment already, definitely ask your vet.

Until then, you could try mixing a little chicken in with her dry food, or using chicken broth, since she's used to that.
