The vets found no tumors, just a large fat deposit in her abdomen! There is some scarring on her kidneys, and just to make sure nothing is wrong, they biopsied her liver due to it's abnormally small size.

Even though her bloodwork is normal, it appears she has hyperthyroidism, which they believe is causing the vomiting and loss of appetite. She'll be started on meds this afternoon. Looks like she will be at the vet through at least Saturday, maybe Monday just to make sure she starts eating again.

Her mommy and daddy are much relieved, and I might actually be able to get a few things done today knowing that kitty is doing much better.

A friend has a cat on hyperthyroid meds - the cat's about 18, IIRC - anyway, it took a bit to find just the riht dosage, but she's doing great.

Hoping all goes well the next few days and your baby will be home soon with you.

Oh great news! I have had 2 HT cats. The one now, Arthur is doing fine. His numbers are normal. So, don't worry. They can live just fine w/ HT.

I know what you mean that you can finally get something done....when my guys are ill, I walk around in a fog and get nothing done.

So glad to hear the good news!!

I'm sooo happy for you! It must be somewhat of relief that you have answers!
Now you can go about helping your furry one feel better!
