The new political football?

Is this it? Is the new political football going to be, piddling around with student's curriculum to make political statements? This seems to be the year for school and education officials to go all political on us; now, LA is getting into the game.

I don't care what side you're on, but political brainwashing of impressionable students is JUST PLAIN WRONG!

If they are going to teach about the law, they owe it to give both sides of the story.

Such is why California is the cesspool of America, IMO.

No offense to Dusty's Mom.

Actually, (at least this year), Texas did it first.

Actually, Texas generally does it first every year. Or every few years, when the board meets to establish requirements for new textbooks.

I guess that means CA won't be able to buy the same textbooks made for Texas, and vice versa.

Hey, have you heard the latest? You know why Texas is so much richer than Mexico? Because Texas got the part of Mexico with all the good roads...

Oh dude, check this out. California is working on legislation requiring that all in-production textbooks be reviewed for "Texas inspired alterations". Geez, if they want custom textbooks, order custom textbooks. Can you say "political stunt".

Maybe they can just plunk the kids down in front of the boob tube and let them watch FOX "personalities." Some of this stuff is pretty rich.

Those poor kids in Texas.

How about somebody develops a curriculum with little or no politics and instead plenty of reading, writing (NOT texting), science and math! And maybe something for the body and soul, like bringing back sports and creative arts.

ETA: Ooops never mind I guess Texas isn't interested.

The superintendent has noted that if all 50 states were to approve national math and English education standards, appropriate textbooks would be easier to find. Only two states have balked at those standards — Alaska and Texas.
