Well, Rowdy is a tortie and hell on wheels. Opie is red/white and laid back. Buddy is a tuxedo and you couldn't pay him to leave home. Rowdy seems to be the only one who fits into the stereotype.

Yeah...
I think they're just generalisations really. They probably get a little more accurate when your dealing with pure breds from a long line of one particular color.
Who Knows.
Bobbie and Zooey are both tabbies but they're SO different. Mythie is a tortie and she's so GOOD!

Max is a dilute tortie and she is my little snuggle angel girl!

Jules is a ginger (red) tabby and the friendliest, most outgoing and laid back cat I have ever met. He loves to play and never picks fights.

Coal, who is grey, is a grumpy old man, much like Walter Matthau.

So there!

JC is anything but a lap cat. It is true that he doesn't like kids, though. The whole things reminds me of horoscopes - so general that you can read what you want into them.

Did you all see Nipper down about 3/4 of the way down the web page? He's the black and white kitty. That's the coolest pattern on a cat I've ever seen! Let me see if I can put a picture of him in here.

Very interesting post! I love stuff like this.

Nipper. Cool huh?

Wow...I've never seen a black & white with that pattern! Thanks for attaching the pic.

My tortie was very sweet and gentle at home but terrified of the vet. She could be tough for them to work on, if they weren't careful to be very calm & quiet around her.

My black & whites are all very sweet loving lap cats who purr at the vet, except for the oldest, who is sweet most of the time but can get a little cranky occasionally. They're all very demanding of attention, and always want to be where I am.

It makes sense to me. I had a huge red tabby boy, and he was the sweetest thing, until provoked or annoyed. Then he could be as mean as hell. My little all white girl is a peaceful little soul.

No kidding.. I have a 5 year old female calico who has been mad at the entire family since we brought more cats into the house (which was about 6 months after her birth). I don't think she'll ever forgive us - unless we get rid of them.

Actually, here she is avoiding everyone as usual. She only comes down from her perch to eat and use the litter box.

A pretty calico!

One time when I found a kitten and brought it home, my tortie got so mad that she spent the night prowling around the bed, growling, and started jumping up on the bed scratching and biting! I was really scared...I thought she'd gone nuts! I locked her in her carrier for the night, then she was OK the next day but still grouchy. I gave the kitten to a friend, then she was back to her normal sweet self!
