So the stray i found had her kittens and one has twisted hind legs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about bracing. I'm worried that if i brace them the mama - been callin her Kiwi - will reject the baby or try and chew off the braces. Any ideas? I havn't been able to find all that much online to help me out.

There is something called Twisted limbs. It can look horrible out. The good news is, usually it gets better with time, they become OK before they are fully grown.
If they need some gymnasics or such - I suppose the most owners do, but frankly I cant swore on it.

The question if it is these Twisted legs, or deformed leg like you wrote earlier.
Try to send some pictures, and we shall try to hold our eyes open for more info.

I myself think, a mother who has proved herself to be a good mother, will not reject the baby because you are helping the baby. Especielly not if she fully accepts you.

About Deformed leg.

In the Stray forum, Hissy has a thread about Lucky stray stories. Story nr 3 involves a kitten with a deformed hind leg, who apparently lived on a good life.

Good luck!

Good luck!

Well i looked up deformities in kittens and one of the things i found was "Twisted Limbs". I read everything i could on it and the pictures of the kittens looked very similar to Mango's hind legs. After two therapy sessions it looks a teeny tiny bit better. Its other hind foot is still curled, but that is probably my fault because ive been concentrating on her sever leg. I'll see if i can get some pics of her here in a little bit, ive been painting all day and can't get myself out of bed now lol.

Since Kiwi was a stray, we don't know what the father was like, so that makes the kittens much more prone to birth abnormalities. I haven't had experience with twisted limbs, but it sounds like it may not be a huge issue in the future. One thing is to make sure that this baby is an indoor only cat, since it probably won't be able to defend itself as well as the others.
