I just confirmed with my recruiter that I will have my commissioning ceremony June 14. I swear in as an officer in the US Army Nurse Corps Reserves.

I, hopefully, will be closing on my house tomorrow. Of course, this is the 4th closing date that I have been given so we'll see. I had to sent the kitties to my sister's until I close because after 2 years of living in this apartment, my landlord decided that I shouldn't have my cats here. They were not on my lease because I was only allowed to have declawed cats, but no one had said anything about my cats so I didn't worry about it or move when I could have before. Now, all of a sudden, the cats are a big no no and my landlords were in my apartment showing it- without telling me. They're allowed in my apartment without telling me-- that's in my lease but I apparently overlooked in when I read it. Oh well, hopefully I close tomorrow and then I have 2 months to clean my apartment and make it spotless so they can't steal any more money from me. Can't wait to bring my guys home and join the ranks of homeowener's.

Congrats on both accounts. Being commissioned and officer and a home owner.

Will you be based in the US or be traveling overseas??

I will be in the Reserves so for now I will be in the US, but I may end up being deployed at some point during my time in the service. I already have a friend that will live in my house and care for the kitties and the puppy if I get deployed (my deployment will be for about 6 months if I go).

Congrats! Sounds like things are coming along well for you. You'll be happy to get out of that apartment.
