They said that stroking a can can lower your blood pressure, but how if I have a very low blood pressure, should I not stroke my cat?

It can lower your blood pressure if it's high, but if it's healthy or low I don't think it would have any effect. So you can stroke your cat all you want

Blame vague information for this. All it really means is that pets, and spending time with those pets, can relax people and help them with stress. For many, being really stressed out raises blood pressure (due to other hormones released such as cortisol).

For the rest of us, it doesn't really mean anything.

I have to agree with strange_wings. Sometimes I have a really stressful day at work, so when I finally get home
I spend time with Sweetie. He enjoys being petted so much and has such a nice loud purr, that I instantly feel much more relaxed and refreshed.

Maybe you have low blood pressure because you have a cat to stroke?

Seriously though I have low blood pressure and generally it's a good thing, nothing to worry about unlike high blood pressure.

If I have a stressful day at work as soon as I get home and am greeted by my beautiful kitties I can feel all the stress just ebbing away.

It depends on how low it is. Usually everyone writes off low BP as being good, yet it can cause serious illness or injury in some people.
