What? I thought we were all created in His image -- maybe He's finally glad this aspect is acknowledged?

There are dozens more generations of doomsdayers yet to come who will be saying exactly that same thing, and who will pass exactly like all the others that came before them. I've no hope of any of them ever learning a thing.

Ahhh but we only get so many chances and time is running out for real...but since you are not a believer it really doesn't matter to you

Obama is out for two things - himself and the destruction of America.

There is no set limit on chances...the Universe does not play favorites, it does not take attendance, and it does not keep score.

Besides, GLBT Pride month was proclaimed over a decade a go, this is merely a reaffirmation.

My physics professor likes to say that "Mom (Mother Nature) takes no prisoners".

We are all created in his image. What we do after our creation is another story.

It's sad that he's trapped within a single image. You'd think he'd be more powerful than that.

Why does he want to destroy America?

Who said that?

I have nothing against the Proclamation.

But I always wonder about the people that have no belief in God.

Do they really think all of this is an accident? Really? That seems so illogical to me.

I just could never believe we sprang from the primordial ooze.

There are to many miracles in the world and of course the Holy Spirit.

"...in his image". That is singular no matter how people want to spin it.

And, no. I don't think it was an accident. It was created. It was created by a being far, far more powerful that any of the "revealed" Gods. It was created by a being that cannot be trapped by humans into having an image, a nature, or play favorites. It was created by a being that has no need of worship or groveling, has no ear for prayer, and doesn't care if humans love it, fear it, hate it or ignore it.

God isn't singular Skip. And by that I do NOT mean there is more than one God.

Then where are the human beings created in his other images?

How would I know, I'm not divine.

So, as "man" has one basic configuration, it would mean that being "created in his image", means that he's stuck in one image. Poor fella.

Not at all, but you have the "free will" to believe that if you like.

But why beg the question? If mankind is formed in God's image, then he is stuck in a single image, and therefore, not overly powerful. If not, then mankind is merely formed in AN image that he elected to take at one time or another, which makes it pretty much meaningless to have mentioned in the first place.

My personal opinion is that the "image" is more abstract than that...it's not a physical configuration, because a being that can create a universe could surely create any physical configuration for its own use...my best guess, since the only divine acts as yet mentioned at that portion of the narrative were creative ones like inventing the universe, is that the "image of God" is the human impulse to create things that are good and useful and beautiful. In a way, assuming I'm on the right track, that would make any creative act a form of worship because it would be obeying the image of God that's programmed into our human nature...maybe I'm right and maybe I'm wrong but I'd far rather have people painting and sculpting and making music as an alternative to blowing each other up.
