My new cleaning girl is a dream come true!!!!

Tomorrow will be the 3rd time she's come here.

The first time was on May 15th. It was a Saturday and she doesn't normally work Saturdays but because my hours conflict with her's she made an exception. She even left their street yard sale to come here. Talk about nice!

Anyway, the first day she was here she scrubbed my entire bathroom from top to bottom including the tiles, the outside of the fixtures, took everything out of my over the toilet cupboard and scrubbed it inside and out. She even organized the cupboard under the sink!

Then she was on her hands and knees washing the baseboards in the living room. I couldn't believe how many rags she had to use and how black each one was.

She kept telling me that she doesn't like to shoot down other people's work, but the girl that was coming before, sure wasn't doing a good job!

She even got up on a step ladder and washed the outside and tops of all of my kitchen cupboards.

Last week when she was here she continued the deep cleaning and cleaned out my oven.

Tomorrow when she comes she said she would clean out my fridge and the fridge freezer.

She charges the same as I was paying the other girl, only this one has a legit company and charges tax on the rate, which is just fine. And she is being paid for 3 hours and she said she stays for 3 hours looking for things to do. She said she will even take things out of cupboards to clean the cupboards and organize the contents!

However, she said that after a half-dozen or so 3 hours stints, she said that she would only need 2 hours most weeks to keep up the maintenance, with 3 hours if she was doing something big like the oven or fridge again.

She said she would let me know when it starts to get to where she feels 2 hours will be more than enough time to keep up the cleaning.

I'm so glad I got rid of that other slob! What a disaster she was.

Normally I would be feeling like I needed to run around and clean the night before.

All I've done is pick stuff up and put stuff back where it belongs....no actual cleaning!

Oh! And she puts things away when she's done. Before the vacuum was left out in the middle of the room, all of the kitchen chairs were scattered around, and cleaning products were left all over the bathroom, kitchen and on the kitchen table, the mop and pail was left in the hallway by the bathroom.

Christine puts everything away where it belongs, so other than the place looking and smelling clean, there is no sign that she was actually here.

My husband keeps trying to get me to hire someone to help me clean. I would if I knew I could find what you are describing. These ones around here stay all day and charge close to a hundred bucks.

Look around. Check out even universities because some students are looking for part time work.

Find a smaller cleaning company, a private one by asking around or checking ads in the supermarket.

Christine owns her company and it's just hear that does the cleaning for the most part. She does have another lady who sometimes works with her if she has several places to do in one day. Last week she had 4 or 5 places booked for one day and there was no way she could do it herself, so in cases like that she brings in someone with her and they get the job done in 1/2 of the time. Of course I still pay the 3 hours that it would have taken if it were just her, which I think is fair.

One thing I recommend from the start... put it in writing.

Have a meeting to show the person where things are, and have them do their first cleaning or two with you at home. Also, lay out exactly what you expect to be done every week, and what you expect to be done "on an as needed basis" IE: baseboards, windows, window sills, oven, fridge etc.

The other girl I had coming I had to tell her what to do every single week, or she didn't do it, and even then she only did it 1/2 a'd. But for things like window sills, fridge, stove, shower tiles, none of it was done unless I specifically pointed out that I wanted it done on such and such a date and even then I got flack!

Christine said that she keeps an eye on things, and checks the fridge and oven each week to see if it needs cleaning. If the oven needs cleaning, she will let me know to spray it the day before she next comes.

I'm really pleased with her so far.

Also check the bulletin boards at your local grocery store and bank. Then ask around if people know them.

Nothing like an industrious person. I've had people who just dusted and then spent the rest of the time gossiping or spying on the neighbors!!!

That's fantastic, I am really pleased for you. I need her for the new house we are moving to, that really needs a "deep clean"
