DH took Marshmallow outside for a few minutes and when he brought him back in, Marshmallow lost his balance. He acted confused and looked like his feet were curling up. It was the oddest thing. DH tried to call the vet immediately, but since it's a holiday, they weren't in. By the time DH hung up the phone, Marshmallow was walking fine, with maybe a slight limp on one of his back feet. We can't figure out what happened. Daisy had whacked him across the head earlier that day, but surely not with enough force to do serious harm. And DH had him outside all of five minutes, though Marshmallow's feet never touched the ground. (We sit outside and hold him because he loves to go out; we don't let him down.) It really scared us because we had an elderly cat (Garfield, RIP) who had a stroke and never recovered.

I would be thankful for any advice. Marshmallow is a young cat, less than two years old. We just can't imagine what happened.

I would definitely keep an eye on him. I hope it is nothing serious.

He seems to be doing fine now. It was so frightening, though. When DH put him down, his legs seem to go out from under him. And DH didn't set him down hard or anything. We are watching him. He is now jumping and walking fine. There has always been something that bothers me a little about Marshmallow, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Though he is properly vetted, etc., he just doesn't seem as sturdy as the other cats. He is so small in stature. Speck and Daisy each make about three of him.
