I am in need for a good everyday casual purse that I can wear to work, so I went in search for one today. It was soo hard finding a bag. None of the bags I saw were anything that goes with the clothes I wear to work.

I wear a lab coat at work so what I'm wearing under it doesn't matter, but sometimes chemicals might get on my clothes so I don't wear really nice clothes, I wear just jeans and t shirt type tops(though I usually try to pick ones that are cuter than just a regular t shirt)...And as far as shoes I go for comfort so I wear black tennis shoes since I hate white shoes

I think with these types of shoes and clothes the only type of bag that wouldn't look tacky would be a messenger type bag or a hobo bag that's just sort of slouchy and really really casual, definitely no leather. I have a bag like that currently, it's by Steve Madden and it's really nice but there is no organization to it, and it doesn't look very good, hence why I am looking for a better one.

I couldn't find anything like what I'm looking for in stores though. All the bags I could find were amazing beautiful bags that I would wear when I'm going out, not when I'm in jeans, a t shirt and tennis shoes
Sooo what to do, can anyone tell me which stores would carry what I'm looking for at a reasonable price, because I would not be happy to pay over $100 for a fabric casual everyday bag??? Or does anyone have a good online store they use they can direct me to???
It would be much appreciated!

I do a lot of shopping on E-Bay. Have you checked out the purses there.

Gotta say....I'm a huge fan of Laurel Burch bags. They are very bright, though. I do get lots of compliments on mine.

Did you check out Vera Bradley's handbags (very good website!). I pick up purses at TJ Maxx. Though I can easily afford a Coach handbag so many people have them-I would rather spend the money on plant material than a purse that is trendy and will be outdated!

I went to TJ maxx today but I was disappointed because I felt like the quality of the bags was not very good. They had a few designer bags like a Michael Kors bag I really was tempted to buy, and some nice knock off brands that looked good but couldn't find a good quality type of bag in the style I was looking for.
I will check out ebay...I guess I am just a little hesitant when it comes to buying online unless it's from a seller that someone recommends to me

And as far as Vera Bradley, I love the styles but that specific pattern they come in (or it may just be the most popular pattern) doesn't appeal to me a whole lot..and I feel like they are a bit pricey for the quality they offer, but that's just me.

those are cute!! I had fun looking through them...I think I'll get the indigo cats tote, I like that one a lot. Some of the other ones I feel like have too much going on in terms of color.
But seeing those gave me the idea to look on etsy...so I'll look there too now!

I have been buying my purses from QVC or HSN, they are less expensive than buying them in the stores. You can go to their websites and look under handbags and see what they have right now. You have 30 days to return anything if you don't like it.

Hi,
I dunno if it's too late to make a suggestion, but this site linked below has some pretty funky stuff, I've bought a lot of their jewellery, but not much by way of bags/clothes, but as most stuff is pretty inexpensive it might be worth checking out.

If you have Kohl's near you, Vera Wang sells some really cute bags there, from dressy to casual. Reasonably priced, too.

salsero71, those are some great bags! I love the antique sari basket bags and the paws galore bags. Everyone should look at that site, it is really cool.

Two places I would recommend: Ross as an walk in, or online, Amazon... I have a very hard time beating Amazon's price, and I SHOP around! They have sooooo many vendors now, and the competition is so strong, that the price is really great...
What I do is I find what I like in its respective brand store, then I search on Amazon - 99.99% of the times I get it for much much less.
I just got myself some great Dansko shoes that the original price was $180, on Amazon was $75... Even on Dansko Outlet they were almost $100...
So, spend some time on Amazon and it is totally worth it.

Ross IMO is the best walk in choice, or Nordstrom Rack, if you have it in your city - both of them sell high end quality brands at close out prices.

Krazy Kat2: yeah I wish more people knew about it. I've made it my homepage, so I start off every internet session by clicking on each tab, and doing my bit to end poverty & animal suffering.
Also, the jewellery is such good value!

Ut0pia: you'll have to post a pic of the bag you end up getting now that we've all chipped in our 'two cents' worth:-)

I got a bag for now but I'll need one again soon...
the bag I got is from target and since you asked for pics I will oblige

It can be worn as a messenger bag which is how I plan to wear it...

salsero I liked that site and I might get another bag from there...I will also look on amazon for another bag, I had gone to Ross though and couldn't find anything, but the Rosses around me all get sold out of anything that comes in sooo quickly.

Try going to a large Ross not a small one... Also do you have a Nordstrom Rack close by?

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Oh hon, Vera Bradley bags are very GOOD quality! And they're machine washable! I'll never own anything other than Vera.
I used to go through cheap purses all the time, with their straps breaking, etc. My oldest Vera is 3 years old, and other than some worn out spots (I abuse my purses), it's still as durable as when I bought it.

Also, you can find a LOT of the styles on ebay for great prices.
But...if you don't like the colors/patterns, then I can understand that. I'm not in love with most of them, but the ones I do like a lot, I buy at least one bag in that color.

Good luck hunting!

I've been debating on buying that same Target bag! I think it's really cute and it looks like it can hold a lot of things.

As for Vera, I've been trying to find a not-horribly-expensive VB pet carrier!
I love the purses every once in a while but the carrier looks so soft and comfy for a cat. Anyone have one?

Have you looked on ebay? They have a few, in all kinds of patterns. Prices vary, of course, but it can't hurt to try!

I have been watching Ebay! I really shouldn't be shopping right now though so I'm trying to curb the urge to buy.
