Hi everyone my Allie cat had a complete ear canal ablation 10 days ago because of a tumor that is squamous cell and unfortunately he does not think he removed it all. I was wanting to hear from anyone who has had a baby that has went through this. She still does not act like she is feeling much better. And now she is having problems with the other ear. Vet said she has some drainage in there so we are useing drops. She does still have ptosis in that upper lid from the surgery which actually is what I started noticeing before the surgery. This has been a long process for over a year now because other vet was brushing me off in the beginning and then ear got really infected so we used drops for mths with no improvement. Had to go to another vet for CT scan which showed what we were dealing with. Radiation for what was left would be about $5000 plus she would have sideeffects. He said with out treatment statisics say 3 mths. I have cried so much about this. Anyway id anyone knows anything about this please reply. I am giving her small dose of tramadol for the pain. Its keeps her awake tho. The bropanalol (sp) made her act crazy. Thanks everyone

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Oh I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I don't know anything about it, but hopefully someone who does will come along and be able to give you some valuable advice.
I can just imagine the heartbreak you are going through. You obviously love your little baby so much.
Welcome to the site, although its under these circumstances. Hopefully, Allie will start feeling better really soon and have total recovery.

I'm not sure if Buster had the complete ear canal ablation, but he did have his eardrum removed due to cancer. I will check with the vet when we have his stitches removed next week. It all happened so fast once we had the appointment with the specialist and we mainly asked questions about what would happen once the surgery was done and how we should take care of him. I'm still feel very much in the dark as to what exactly was done and what to expect in the future. I hope there is no radiation involved.

for you and Allie. I know there is so much associated with this to think about. I will keep you both in my prayers.

I am not sure if what happened to my mom's cat is the same thing as what happened to Allie or not but my mom had a Siamese that unfortunately developed an ear mite infection in both ears that we were unaware of. One day, I was petting him and noticed that the inside skin of his ear lobe was looking like it was kind of puffy or swollen. Well, my mom called the vet and we had to bring him in. As it turns out, he had gotten blood clots in those places and needed to have the blood clots removed before they could get infection in them which could have poisoned his blood. The results of this surgery were that his life was saved most importantly but the drawback was that his ears were no longer to stand up from that point onward. Instead, his ears drooped instead of standing up and pointed as a normal cat's ears do.
