R.I.P. Dennis Hopper

just read he passed away at around 8am this morning from prostate cancer. i l've seen all his movies many tmes. he was a great actor

Oh, I hadn't heard this. I thought he was just fabulous. What a shame.

I had no idea he'd even been sick with cancer. I really like Dennis Hopper's work, he was a fine actor. RIP Dennis.

On a side note, there was a story a while back that obits for famous people are often written well in advance. Those who are old or sick definitely have their obits researched and written months - even years - in advance, and anyone super famous has an obit ready to go. The story came about after everyone had detailed Michael Jackson obituaries ready to go seemingly minutes after he'd been pronounced dead. I thought it seemed a little morbid...

I hope he passed peacefully. He was one of my favorite actors.
I heard it on the radio this morning, and could not believe they said he was best known for his movies Mario Brothers and Chasers. Are they kidding?What about Blue Velvet? Easy Rider is a classic and was brilliant for its time. He did so many good roles, and those were the only ones mentioned. He deserves so much more credit.

Dennis Hopper was an extremely talented artist, actor, and director who will be missed. May he rest in a better place..........

The saddest part about all this is the legal battle his nearly-ex-wife is starting regarding his estate. He was trying so hard to divorce her before his death, because he didn't want her getting anything from him.

Fine actor, great talent, wonderful artist...I'm glad he got his star this year.
