PEG vs. E-tube feeding

My cat has been eating poorly for two weeks now. We have done blood work, ultrasound, x-ray, etc. We are hoping to see a turn around in the next few days, if not, a feeding tube placement seems inevitable.

To those who have the knowledge and experience, is the E-tube or PEG better for the cat? Putting cost aside, which is the better option for the kitty? thanks for any adivce.

It now appears that some kind of tube feeding is inevitable for my kitty, and I am trying to decide between E-tube and PEG.

When a kitty is on E-tube, can they drink and swallow? How can you tell if their appetite is back? Are E-tubes well tolerated? If it is uncomfortable for the cat, can they take it out and replace it again?

I am worried about PEG because of the more invasive procedure and higher risk of infections. I have another cat at home and they are playful, and may pull out the tube before healing.

This talks about both in a cat(who had had both at different times) with CRF:

hopefully that will help.

I am not sure, I have heard the same thing about the stomach tube.

Good luck, I have a kitty who I have to force feed right now too.
