Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I signed. The NJ Fish & Game Council is attempting to make the feeding of stray and feral cats fit the "illegal" bill under the laws against feeding/attracting bears.

Funny enough, it is the bird food that attracts the bears, not the cat food.

Brookhaven has been a target of the bird vs. cat propoganda. Piping Plover are an endangered species and are a resident of Brookhaven - predation of feral cats on such ground nesting birds has been a hotly pursued project by organizations such as ABC Birds, Partners in Flight, and other pro-bird/anti-cat organizations that like to use pseudoscience to support their claims that cats are the problem.

The cats are there. Traditional policies of trap and kill have brought us to where we are today. So why the anti-cat contingent can't DIALOGUE with people willing to care for cats and animal control - of which TNR IS "best practices" and is now supported by the National Animal Control Association is so beyond me. These townhall meetings should NOT be about banning feeding laws - but about where the colonies of cats should BE. That is the only possible win-win situation.
