Does anybody feed this food? I'm just basically looking for testimonials. Is it palatable? Have your cats had any problems with it? Have they done well?

I'm looking to switch from Felidae dry to something of comparable quality but with some lower mineral contents. I'm not looking for grain free, and the cats will still get half their food in wet.

Thanks!

Very solid formula... not a favorite of mine due to the amount of starch( potato is the third ingrediant plus multiple grains)... too many " extras" ...

First let me just note that Innova has been bought by Proctor & Gamble so I'm sure how that will effect the quality of the food. Like everything that big corporation has a hand in, the bottomline often trumps quality.

With that said... my then 6 month old kitten was experiencing diarrhea and vomiting after eating Science Diet. After a week of that, I switched him to Iams until I can find a better quality food. I was a first time cat owner, so I knew very little about cat nutrition. I went online to research cat food and 3 of the most flouted at the time was Innova, Wellness and Felidae. I got all 3.

Unlike Wellness, Lex took to Innova quickly. No diarrhea or vomiting. The only complaint I have is that Innova, unlike Wellness, has a distinctive smell. Not sure if they coat the kibbles with something, but there's a certain smell that lingers long after he's done eating.

I no longer feed him Innova as he's a bit on the chubby side and it has a lot of grain. I think he gained a lot of weight while on it.

Well I have seen cats eat wheat and rice in the wild ... never a potato as they have to have the posionous parts removed...

Having potato and grain IMHO is a touch to much... it means the protein in the food is likely over half coming from starchy veggies and grain...

Really? P&G owned? Is nothing sacred????

My cats eat a variety between Innova and Wellness. I tend to mix the Light Innova with it's Evo brand. My cats aren't fond of the Light on its own, but they love the Evo. And since the Evo comes in a lighter fare as well, I'm not too worried about them overeating it.
