Gmorning:

My creative juices are not flowing today so the QOTD comes from Kendra:

What is your favorite song? How bout type of music, or do you have a favorite music video.

Are you one who gets "involved" with their music: meaning you listen to lyrics and it affects you emotionally.... OR are you one that just have music in the background for background noises?

I love music!!

My fave song right now is Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z with Alicia Keys.

I get involved in the music, I know all the words and I belt it out with pride. (Much to the dismay of my husband)

Classic Rock.

My favorite song is Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. My favorite group is Aerosmith.

I have music on in the car, in the house, on the computer. When I'm cleaning or baking, I always have CDs playing my favorite rock songs (DH came home from bowling one night to me singing along to One Way Street...Aerosmith... while I was baking cookies and he's called me the Rockin' Baker ever since). I have a collection on my computer. Music on my phone, too, as I used to use it for walking before I got my Ipod.

I don't listen to the radio at all. We don't have a decent rock station around here....and the crappy music stations we do have play too many commercials.

Picking one song is too hard - lately Hypocrisy - Alive has been stuck in my head (there's no cussing or gore in the lyrics - but don't click if you're easily offended). Tägtgren is one of my favorite musicians/vocalists - he also does a very good job with the bands he mixes and produces for.

Favorite genre... a tie between death metal and classic progressive rock.

Pain - Shut Your Mouth is one of my favorite vids - mostly because of the ending. If you don't like the song at least click to the end where the music stops and the alien is in his bathrobe. The War of the Worlds reference amuses me to no end.

I can't say I really get that emotionally involved in the music I listen to.. .it's just music.
Sometimes I'll sing along if no one is around.

This question is too hard because it totally depends on my mood. I'll listen to pretty much anything other than twangy country music and worship music.

I love Comfortably Numb and pretty much everything else by Pink Floyd. Smack My B**** Up by Prodigy is my go to workout song; I play it over and over. For quietier times I like John Denver or John Taylor. If I'm ticked off it is anything by Rage Against the Machine, particularly Killing in the Name Of. If I'm happy I like the Beastie Boys or old Disco music.

I love music, my favorite genres being classic rock and Celtic.
Favorite songs---Without You by Harry Nilsson, Against All Odds by Phil Collins, Honor Him/Now We Are Free from the movie Gladiator, May It Be by Enya.
I get very 'involved' in the lyrics, to the point of crying when I hear certain songs (for example: My Beloved Wife by Nataiie Merchant).
I actually intend to make a cd of music that I want played at my funeral. I want to 'go out' with the music I love playing in the background.

Music doesn't mean as much to me as it did years ago. I do turn on the stereo as I pass it on the way to the kitchen in the morning, I have it tuned to the oldies which is my fav genre. I cannot stand hard rock or anything like it, I'm way past that. I keep it on till I'm done with my chores and then sit and read, I can't listen to radio or TV when I am reading, have to have quiet when I'm reading, I can't concentrate otherwise.

I listen to the radio when I'm in the car and change the station as soon as a commercial comes on.

Lisztomania by Pheonix is my favorite song right now...makes me dreamy when I hear it or Temper Trap :Sweet Disposition. I listen to those two cd's wwaaaayyyy too much.

I do get emotionally involved with my music.
Thats what its meant to do. If art doesn't move you emotionally what good is it for??

My favorite song to play and cry over is "Thats the way I always heard it should be" by Carly Simon....kills me every single time.

My taste in music is varied. New wave is a standout genre for me though. Seem to listen to alot of that.

I am a moody person so I like all sorts of different music depending on how I am. I just love music all around!
Some people don't discuss politics or religion.....I don't discuss music
Gotten me in trouble a few times.

I like country and bluegrass gospel. I think my favorite is "Go Rest High on the Mountain" by Vince Gill.

I have a cute little dog named Lola and I sing that song to her all the time. She breaks into a big panting grin and wags her tail in return.

Music moves me emotionally and I can't say that I have a favorite song because it all depends on the mood I'm in. It's safe to say that I love anything by the Who (while all of the original band was still alive). But give me a great artist or band played on an outstanding stereo system, and a lot of music will give me shivers down my spine.

My other favorite artists/bands: Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Los Lobos, English Beat, Beatles, Talking Heads, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Traveling Wilbury's........

I guess I like classic rock, reggae, blues, and ska.

Oh good, someone who likes country and gospel. I love Alan Jacksons Precious Memories CD and nothing Vince Gill does is bad!

I think my favorite song is probably Charmed Life by Social Distortion. I have several others, but that one came to mind first. I listen to a lot of alternative country, classic rock, punk, rockabilly. Music hits me right in the heart, and can make me laugh, cry, change my mood, motivate me. I almost always have music playing, and listen to Johnny Cash a lot in my cab a lot, because almost everybody loves it.

My favorite song as of late is either The Divine Wings of Tragedy or Paradise Lost, both by Symphony X. I mostly listen to progressive metal/rock (Dream Theater, Symphony X, Tool, Queensryche, etc.) but I also listen to a lot of classic rock (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) and neo-classical metal (Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio, Rusty Cooley, Matthew Mills) and some instrumental guitar virtuosos like Paul Gilbert, Allan Holdsworth, George Lynch, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, and Mattias "IA" Eklundh. My favorite music video recently is One by Metallica.
