Weird behavior from older cat

Its been long awaited but my older female cats are interacting with my two kittens. The older female cat was acting weird, never seen her act like this.

My folks sent me a video of their kittens a month old or so and the kittens were meowing away in it, my older cat perked up from her pillow, went running to the other two kittens in the living room, sniffed them and tried to search out the noise of the meows. jumped up on my lap and started biting at me as if to suckle, i shooed her away and she started acting really sucky and protective of the other kittens, jumped back to her pillow and started suckling.

Does she do the suckling action any other time?

My guess is just that she was confused and upset. Cats will sometimes keep a suckling holdover from kittenhood and will do it to comfort themselves.

When she gets upset like that give her lots of pets and tell her its ok.

Peaches suckles on her pillow but never tried it on me or my girlfriend, which was extremely weird.

She was coming to you for comfort and reassurance that everything was fine - like a child that gets upset and runs to it's parents.

Looks like the kittens unnerved her a little. Maybe if they were new to the household, she wasn't used to seeing kittens at all. Cats may revert to kitten like behaviour when they want comfort from their owners. Some are wool suckers for life.

Just give her plenty of extra attention when she seems distressed, if that does not work, try limiting her contact with the kittens at first. Gradually she should get used to them.
