My cat, Mattie, eats Friskies Seafood Sensations. I want to change her food to something better. I have looked at two foods at Walmart and wonder if anyone here knows about them. The names are Healthy Naturals and Good Life Recipes. Or do I have to go to a pet store to get a good quality dry food for my cat.

FYI - Mars will be discontinuing the whole Good Life line in the near future since they're not making much money on it.

Thanks so I will be marking that one off my list as a possibility.

In Wal Mart - for a halfway decent food I'd look at either Purina Naturals or Purina ONE. I feed a variety of formulas of Purina ONE, as they are readily accessible to me & a decent price. I feed both Purina ONE Urinary & Purina ONE Hairball.

If you have access to a pet food store - IMO paying more for the higher quality food is worth it. They eat less, poop less, and sometimes look better. I go through less litter using a higher quality food. However, I am somewhat "stuck" with the Urinary formula as there are very few brands that make urinary foods.

My Lily is a Purina junky and I can use any Purina interchangably with her and she has no problems.

Based on the recommendations here, I'm in the process of transitioning her from Purina to Kirklands (from Costco). She's put up a fuss with almost every non-Purina food I've tried but she loves the Kirklands and it has been an easy transition thus far. The best part is that it is cheap - 25 pounds for $16. I'm mixing the Kirklands with Acana for one of my other cats and even so that bag of Kirlands will probably last 4 months.
