Your HM is stunning!!!! I love his two tone tail gorgeous, and he must be happy because thats a canny little bubble nest going on!!!

Female is beautiful her colours are so striking, and yeah the females are quick! I had six girls in a tank (as you know females can live in groups they arent like the males) and the way they used to play was great watching them

Thank you!! It was him or a double tail, this handsome guy looked the healthiest. The females are very interesting, my first one!! I think for my next aq. in the future, i want a sorority tank!!! It was so hard to choose among the females, but this little one was very cool looking!! She is such the flirt too, constantly has her eyes on Rico whose in the middle. Still thinking of names... for the female, possibly Flora, and on the betta forum someone suggested Pheonix (sp?), but i'm thinking i want a shorter name or something diff. The HM keeps to himself and flares at his reflection all day
and he made that bubble nest the day after i got him; its huge now. Rico made one yesterday and added to it today under the lily pads.

yeah the females are way more eaiser to keep than the males just dont put neon tetras in i had a dominate female that hunted them and ate them for fun need less to say they were removed sharpish when we realised what was happening luckily we had 4 tanks!

I think Flora is a nice name actually

HAHA if your HM is flaring all the time why dont you just call him Flare

(im sorry its 1:10am and im struggling to think properly)

I will put Flare in my consideration pile and i actually decided to name the female Lucia!
Dont know if you've ever had pond snails in your betta tanks but my bettas have been feasting on them! I don't know how they do it but i keep finding empty shells!!! I finally bought a nerite snail to handle the algae!

Thank you!! Yes, they are very entertaining! When i wake up in the morning i feed them and sit there and watch them... next thing i know, i've been sitting there for 15min and i need to get ready for work! Neko gets jealous too when i sit there watching them or talking to them. She'll start meowing at me. She'll roll over on the ground tummy up so i can give her a belly rub and leave the fish. Other times you will find both me and Neko watching the fish.

They are so pretty! I actually made a website about betta fish many many moons ago - so your thread title caught my eye....

http://bettafish.info/ if anyone wants to take a look. It's fairly basic though.

Beautiful fish and tanks.

I love bettas, but I've always had the worst luck when it comes to keeping them for more than a few months. I also have a horrible track record with Neon tetras.

Going back to bettas, my favorites are the crowntails. Aquabid has some awesome fish if you ever get the chance to check it out.

Thank you!! Great site
I think i actually came across your site when i was studying up on the Nitrogen Cycle. I cycled my tank fishless using pure ammonia drops.

Thank you for the compliment! If you ever decide to keep bettas again, i reccommend ultimatebettas.com!! This is my fish site and thecatsite.com is my kitty site!! These two sites are my favorite; my bf says I'm obsessed

Oh and i've visited aquabid before! BEAUTIFUL FISH! I want to be a more experienced betta keeper before i spend that kind of money though, haha! Then again i think i started this hobby so that i can save a poor cupped betta from those horrible water conditions that you see at the LFS/LPS!!
