I figure it isn't really kitten "care" anymore, so I thought I'd just share how well my babies are doing here! It is a pain to take pictures (though I need to!) But, they are all doing amazing!
Ringo was .6 pounds when I first took him to the vet at 6 weeks old. He is 9 weeks old tomorrow, and is 1.6 pounds now. His fleas have pretty much gone on their own, he is still worm free (he was dewormed again today just incase) and had his first vaccine. He plays, jumps around, and is a wonderful little kitten.
Lennon was .4 pounds, and is now a pound. He is a cuddle bug, and plays now as well. He was dewormed, but the vet wants him bigger before he is vaccinated at all. Both boys use their litter boxes, clean themselves, and eat wet and dry food!
Lucy, my little girlie, was .2 pounds. She is now .6 pounds, so we are getting somewhere. She still doesn't clean herself all the time, or very well. She eats wet food, but still sort of suckles it, and hasn't touched the dry yet. She will occasionally bat at a hand, but isn't too playful yet- she sleeps and eats! She also doesn't always use the litterbox, which is horrid! She was dewormed today, but waaay too small for vaccines!
We worry a bit that she may never develop fully as she should. The vet thinks she might have been temporarily deprived of oxygen or something like that to leave her the way she is. She will most likely stay with us, as she will need more care than your standard cat.
It was kind of funny, Ringo hardly twitched for his vaccine, but when they did the fecal on Lucy she threw a FIT, she was a little drama queen!
Has anyone ever had a kitten as far behind as my Lucy girl? Did they turn out normal?
They all also figured out how to climb on to my bed. So, we sleep with three kittens, slightly frightening, but I can't keep em off, it is where they like to be. Heck, Lennon curls up (I sleep on my side) under my chin, he is just a little love bug!
Wow, that is long. I am proud of those babies though, and so happy they are all surviving. I was worried about Lucy at the beginning!
