Two weeks ago my Snowflake passed away very unexpectedly. She was my sweet white 14 year old kitty. I adopted her from the shelter. She was a young mom with 2 kittens--and then someone found 3 kittens under a trailer with no mama, so she took them as her own and fed them until weaned. I felt that a girl with such a sweet gift deserved a wonderful home. She had extra toes and curly ears. She never really wanted to be in the house much, so she made herself at home in the dog house with Ralph, the golden retriever. They were best buddies
Ralph had been very sad when Snowflaked passed away. Then this weekend the unthinkable happened, and Ralph passed away too!
We have no clue what happened to him. Hubby suspects that he was bitten by a snake, but couldn't find evidence because Ralph was so furry!
I am devastated....I have cried until I thought my eyes would bleed.
People at work say "just go get another one", and they don't understand that these were not "just animals" they were my family!!
My heart is broken....

SNOWFLAKE AND RALPH
Take your time and let yourself grieve. People who don`t have pets or don`t have that special bond with a pet can be so insensitive but they are the ones missing out on something beautiful.

Condolences on losing two very special members of the family. I guess Ralph really wanted to be with his Miss Snowflake
My dog Tasha was that way when my horses both passed. In fact, at the vet's, Tasha was fighting leaving and after the 2nd try, I told her, "Tasha, go get Tinker (my horse)" and instantly, her ears pricked up & she was gone...the vet looked up, teary-eyed, and said, "She just did".
