I'll admit...I've only watched a couple: Private Practice and House. But even with the previews for the other shows during the shows I've watched, I'm getting really irritated with the writers of the series. Why? Because it's all about unnecessary drama (which is somewhat necessary in season finales, I realize), and happy happy joy joy endings that wrap up the entire freakin' show in a pretty little bow. Is all of TV going away after the summer series? Are we starting over completely? May as well!

Maybe I'm just out of the loop. I do know that Private Practice is up for the chopping block so if it isn't renewed then it's fine that Addison finally got with Sam (which has been there since the beginning of the series - which is the last time I watched it), and Pete gets with Violette. Still...come on - she leaves the newborn Lucas with Pete and runs away for a full year, SUES HIM for custody and loses, but a pretty speech with tears makes him forget all about that? Oh gee, he loves her and she loves him and it's all just water under the bridge?
Seriously, he doesn't seem like that much of a flake.

And House. Good finale until Cutty comes in at the last scene and happy happy joy joy - she loves him and leaves Lucas and just has to see if they can be good together.
Another hallucination? We can only be so lucky.

On ABC, every damn series has someone dying. Dell bit it on Private Practice. I guess that was supposed to be a surprise since it looked like Maya would, Who will get shot on Grey's Anatomy? (This year I'd put my money on Teddy - it only makes sense since she's the only physical thing between Owen and Cristina.) Who will get blown up or die on Desperate Housewives? (Isn't this the last season? Then hell, let's blow up the whole block except for, like, the one of them who is telling the story (I gave up on that show years ago).) Did they run out of ideas to make it riveting for the last show? At least they have Bones (Fox) possibly leaving the Jeffersonian instead of killing her off.

Is it like this on every series this year or is it just the few shows I watch?

I have no idea what you are talking about (don't know any of the characters) on any of the shows you mentioned except Bones (and what would that show be without her...they might as well cancel it if she leaves). I haven't seen any previews for any Season/Series Finales yet because hubby controls the remote control and always mutes/or fast forward thru previews. BUT, if it's anything like previous seasons, writers suck when it comes to how to end series
.

I could not believe how they ended Prison Break. Not with Michael dying..that was believable enough since he was sick, but how they wrapped it all up with no one getting killed and everyone getting a pardon, etc. None of it made any sense. And I know this is the last year for Lost, but we have recorded the entire season so far and haven't watched any of it, so I can't say anything, but I'm almost certain I'll be sorely disappointed.

I will say, though, that the Sopranos ended on a nice note!

I think maybe you should just go back in time and listen to the radio and forget about TV since it seems you don't enjoy it at all. I don't like all these finale's either but we can't do anything about it except stop watching.

Wow, that's kind of harsh.

I was away for a few days, so I'm behind on some of the shows, but Private Practice was almost funny with all the things that happened. I mean seriously, did they throw every possible thing that could happen into that one hour show? Death, birth, breakups, proposal, etc.?

I actually liked the season finale of House - and I haven't watched much of it this season. I thought it was really well done. To finally see a situation that shut the good doctor up, and honestly surprised him, was really appealing to me.

The best, and by that I mean worse, season finale was last year with Criminal Minds when Hotchner was kidnapped.

It was supposed to be all suspenseful but you knew who did it because they had the name of the actor listed in the credits and all you had to do is know that he played a character on the show in the past, Hotchner's nemesis, to know it was him that kidnapped Hotchner.

Now I know they have to put in the actor's name for the credits, but surely they could have struck a deal with the actor in order to not credit him for that one episode? It totally ruined everything.

Oh no, I really didn't mean to be harsh. We all know some TV shows are ridiculous especially finale's and we should just take it with a grain of salt. The writers just do things to keep fans coming back but they should realize that some of us would rather just leave.

I did say that the House finale was good except for the last 2 minutes or so when Cutty showed up. It was great to see House show that he more than a jerk. He connected with Hannah. He feels more than physical pain. He can let that huge wall down. It was even more amazing if you knew that everything shot at the crane scene (at least the portions underground) was actually done with SLR cameras with their HD video capabilities. Seriously amazing especially if you saw it in HD like I did.

It was just those last two minutes, wrapping everything up in a pretty pink bow.
We already did the hallucination thing, so that would be overkill. It would have been a much better ending if we were left with a fade out of House sitting on the bathroom floor debating whether or not to take the Vicoden.

(Kim, it is definitely worth watching even if you do know the stupid last two minutes.
)

My favorite show hasn't done their season finale yet (Grey's Anatomy) and I'm really hoping that it isn't as predicable and happy happy joy joy as the others. It is much better when it's dark and twisty.

I'm not watching the finales of House anymore. I find them way too confusing...and well.... just plain weird. Every single one of them was way over my head, so I've given up.

It was all a dream...

(But who is in the shower?????)

Sorry, had to do it!

Seriously, I gave up on these shows, esp. House, a couple of seasons ago.

I missed the finale (which is also series finale) for House, but they will re-run it.

Last night, they left NCIS with a nailbiter of a cliffhanger for next week's season finale - poor Gibbs being dragged off at gunpoint.......EEEEEEEEKK

I won't spoil the second to last Law & Order: SVU for anyone, but it is also a nailbiter (CTV shows it on Tuesday, which is good because it interferes with Ice Road Truckers on Wednesdays)

I am not looking forward to the final Law & Order as that puts paid to the long running series; will probably be as upset over that as I was over ER simply because 20 years of bringing those people (some anyway) into your living room creates a weird attachment

I am also waiting for Grey's finale but I don't think it will be joyful. It looks to me like we will have to wait till next season to see who survives the shootings. I guess it depends on who gets the richest contract

It wasn't the series finale of house, just the season finale.

I haven't liked any of the finales so far. I don't like the way House ended with Cuddy. She seemed happy with Lucas and I wanted to see how that went.

One Tree Hill was pretty bad too. In the last like 10 minutes, Brooke gets engaged, Haley is pregnant and Clay and Quinn get shot. Not sure if anyone else here even watches OTH.

The worst though was Vampire Diaries. (Sorry if nobody else watches it) I hate when they leave huge cliffhangers like that.

I watch The Vampire Diaries and wasn't particularly happy about the season finale either, although I rather liked that kiss.
And once I realized what had happened, it explained the kiss, too. Wonder if Damon realized that?

But cliffhangers are a regular part of finales and I just try to deal with them. The worst one for me in a long time was at the end of one of the Supernatural seasons....the Metallicar got t-boned by a semi. And that was it, end of season. I actually sat straight up and said, "I hate you, Kripke!"

I think Damon knew because of the look on his face once they kissed. I wish that it was Elena though not Katherine. I think that would make it interesting next season, even though with Katherine back it will be interesting to see how that goes.

I look at this to see what has and hasn't been renewed and for all the shows I like it has been right.

It sure reminded me of last season. I wonder if they rushed the ending b/c all season long it was up in the air if it was coming back. I ♥ OTH!

I have to admit I enjoyed the happy, happy, joy, joy ending of House. The episode was so depressing for me, the happy ending helped me get over it. I watch tv for entertainment, not for real life drama.

Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy are nothing but medical soap operas IMO, so I pretty much quit watching.

Is the House ending all happy happy joy joy? I was sort of confused. I'm not sure if he is hallucinating or not. And I don't know if he and Cuddy will really work out. They're kind of right for each other but he's not really the suburban Daddy type and she's made her life choices by adopting the baby.

I don't know what the cliffhanger for NCIS will be. We have one episode left so Gibbs being dragged off at gunpoint isn't the cliffhanger. Maybe he'll turn himself in to the Federales.....

Is L&O really gone? I heard the Lieu will go but I thought the show was coming back next season. I haven't been watching SVU (on the DVR, just haven't watched yet) so I have to catch up and see how that goes. Same with Bones.

I guess the point of season finales is to leave you with a cliffhanger, and maybe wrap some things up in case they get canceled over the summer (depeding on the show).
