Has anyone here had a cat who tested positive to the corona virus? my 7 year old boy had a good bloodtest 6 months ago but THIS month he tested postive to Corona antibodies.

I am sorry. I don't know what this is. I hope your cat will be okay. What is the vet doing to treat the cat. Keep us posted. Your cat is beautiful.

This is actually very common. If your cat is currently sick, ask your vet's advice on how to treat it. Diarrhea is a common symptom of it but it should pass. Get him regular checkups because there is a very, very tiny but there possibility that the corona virus can mutate to FIP, which is deadly. Most cats who get the corona virus however never develop FIP.

Nothing can be done. He will either get FIP or not but there is no cure.

From what I understand, most cats have the corona virus, actually I didn't think there was a test for it? or maybe that's full-blown FIP What is your vet doing for the treatment of your kitty's diarrhea and vomiting? it most likely is not related to the corona virus, FCV is a-symptomatic in and of itself. Just don't panic

Vet never told me my Ben had it. HE said his bloodwork was fine! When he is on again I am going to "speak" to him and see what is causing the vomiting. Meanwhile I am going to give him some ondansetrom at night!

Around 80% of cats in colonies or multi-cat households test positive for the C-virus. But the vast majority never develop anything from it. In a few cases, it can mutate into FIP - no one knows how or why, but genetics, infection and stress may all play a part. Very young cats are more at risk of mutation. So don't worry too much, just keep your cat as healthy as you can.

My cat has tested positive for corona virus. My vet said that most cats test positive for this but are perfectly healthy, slim chance it will develop into something worse.

If you cat is having problems though, you should probably have your kitty seen by a vet.

BUT when I read up on the Corona virus it said stress can turn it into full blown FIP and he gets VERY stressed at the vet!
