Hi everyone. Wanted to intro myself. Husband and I were lifelong dog people, whose two daughters begged for months for a cat until they wore us down and we adopted a beautiful black/white girl from a rescue group last week. She is still getting used to us and our "brood", which consists of the two girls (8 and 3) and a boxer dog. Can't tell which one freaks her out more. She is so sweet but so scared and I am reading everyday trying to learn how to make her feel at home. Here she is in her favorite sleeping spot on my daughter's changing table. Thanks

Welcome to TCS, and thank you for adopting this kitty!

It can take a while for an adult cat to settle in and know that she is loved and safe.

I'm in the Metroplex, too.

The rescue group had her listed as about 1 yr old. I have no idea how accurate that is. I must admit I am enjoying her more than I thought I would.
