Perhaps the reason many liberals don't care about the kidnappings is because the people getting kidnapped are very often illegal aliens.
Why do you feel they don't care?? How is it that suggesting that they go after the dangerous criminals, such as smugglers, hitmen and kidnappers instead of busboys and roofers not caring?

Personally, I think they'd just rather not have to take on the really dangerous ones, but still present the appearance to their voters that they're doing something about the problem. So they use the illegal immigrant label in the majority of their unsolved (or too scary) crimes, and jump on that bandwagon.

It would appear that the problem isn't immigration...it's organized crime.
Of course not every illegal is a violent criminal, BUT they come here for a better life - some make it, some don't. It's a known fact that poverty increases the incidence of crime. When we allow lots of poor people to come here illegally, then it's bound to raise the crime rate when these people can't find work and settle into the ghettos that are already steeped in criminal activity.

And I'll bet that if you compare the % of crime in the illegal population vs. the % of crime of legal citizens, you would find that the % is much higher in the illegal population.

That's quite possible. Where do we find those figures? Or are they estimates?

I don't WANT them to go after the busboys, the roofers, the hotel maids, the landscapers, the hard working people that, although living here illegally, are paying taxes, learning English, loving America and assimilating. And I think the people I just described are the majority of the illegal aliens in this country.

The criminals, on the other hand, should be expelled permenently and never allowed back in.
