So my cat had kittens..

Boy it's been awhile since I've been on this site!

So one of my newer cats, Mystee, had 7 kittens last Wednesday. I won't rant about my mistake of leaving her with my mother for a week and coming to realize a month later that Mystee sure put on some weight....

Anyways, after another month or so of panicking about her being rather young and pregnant, she gave birth to 7 beautiful, healthy kittens. I'll add some pictures to the bottom of this as well, but I do have a question first..

One kitten still has a piece of his umbilical cord attached. I figured it would fall off after a couple days, but it's still attached and I was wondering if it still may fall off on its own or if myself or a vet will have to remove it? Other than that they seem to be doing absolutely fantastic.

Well here are some pictures

This is the kitten I plan on keeping. I named her Mila, and I could fill a photo album with all of the pictures I've taken of her so far.

Here's a few more of Mila..

I'll update with more as they get older, and hopefully get pictures of the other three that refuse to take a decent picture

They are adorable. Mila would be my pick, too. One of my kittens took several days longer for her cord to fall off. I'd give it a few more days.

Anyways, after another month or so ...

If she visibly put on some weight after a month, chances are she got "in this way" while still under your care, not already under your moms.

The last answer you will got after counting on the fingers. Ie what exactly is this "another month or so"....

My guess as now is it was you, my dear.

Congrats and good luck!

Well she was in heat while she was with my mom, and she was getting mad at her constant meowing all night, and let her out.

But regardless she is getting spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned.. I didn't plan on kittens and as adorable as they are.. I don't want anymore.

Why was mama not fixed before? Make sure to get all of those kittens are spayed and neutered too before you rehome! There are many rescues and spca's that will do it for very low cost or even free. They are darling; their nose/face shape looks different to me, different than my fosters right now, very prominent and strong. I wonder what dad looked like...

They are so cute! Yes, the cord should dry up and fall off on it's own as long as it isn't red or icky where it attaches, I wouldn't worry too much.

I was lazy with getting her spayed.. and I know, I know.. I should have gotten it done but it's too late now.. but I am definitely spaying Mystee, as well as the kittens before I rehome them.

I have no idea what the dad looks like. My mom said she saw a "big tabby with a fluffy head" that would roam around her house, so that's my best guess as to who the dad is.

They're beautiful little things!
It's great to hear that everything is going good with such a large litter.

How sweet! Mila looks like a baby meerkat
