apollo behavior..day/night..

day: sweet loving, gets along with all the cat. Plays with sirus and Callisto. Sniffs the other cats, no hissing, swatting, etc..

night: evil demon apollo appears. attacks all the cats, stalks callisto-like she's prey, hisses at every thing including the dog. becomes a tad psycho with the litter box-tipping it over and rolling in the litter..

Its like dr. jekyl mr. hyde going on!

any body else ever deal with this?

I have not had this as my cats all sleep.

But it is not unheard of IMO. Cats being nocturnal. I do have a couple who watch out the window from time to time. There is a lot of night visitors to our birdfeeders.

How old is your cat? Mine are getting old and don't really have the get up and go.

Try getting him more active in the evening to tire him out.

I know I didn't help too much, hopefully some will be of more assistance.

It is normal for cats to change their activity levels drastically from day to night. They are much more active at dawn and dusk and they are least active in midday. Your cat's behaviour is an expression of his higher energy and greater excitability at evening hours. During the day, there is less that sets him off because he is less attuned to his surroundings.

If he is truly terrorising your other cats by night, is there a way you could separate them during this time?

we tried to separate him and he yowled all night long. last night was peaceful. I gave him catnip before i went to bed so he spent a few hours rolling on the floor and didnt bother any of the other cats last night. gotta love kitty nip lol.

I too will be of no help, but can at least somewhat feel your pain. George seems to "terrorize" Ellie at bed time - until about 2am (as I typed that sentence, at 7:21pm, I hear Ellie squealing so I know it's starting early today!). The two of them are fine all day - but then again, they're sleeping most of the day.

Most of the time I think he's just playing harder than she'd like (she'd be very happy if she was an only cat, but she came after George) - today she was frightened by a fly and went and hid under the bed!!

I do have Feliway plug-ins in hopes that George's craziness would calm down, but doesn't seem to have helped much.

At least no one in the house is tipping over the litter box and rolling around in it (that made me chuckle!!!).
