Hey that's great news! Awesome that you heard right away too, so you didn't have to go through the horrid suspense of waiting and wondering if they'll hire you or not. Congratulations and good luck!!

Thanks guys

I just wanted to update about my first day today!!It went well, but I was a little tired in the end...And it wasn't too hard, but what sucks is that it's not the kind of job where you are trained in a day- I have so much to learn. It will take a while for me to learn everything, maybe a few weeks. But the people were really nice and very good at teaching me.

I'm so happy it's Friday, Rigel

But the job went fine this week
I feel so overwhelmed with meeting sooo many people. People there are so nice and polite and so many people took their time to welcome me and get to know me, that it made me feel disoriented with remembering so many names
I'm emotionally exhausted more than anything, because out of nowhere I am spending 8 hours every day with these people at this new place.. so it's so much to get used to! I even dreamed about being at work yesterday...

oh, and I forgot to mention that the only position they had open was a full time position, it was either take it or leave it, and I chose to take it, even though I was looking for part time. So, I will be working a lot more than I planned and I will be so much busier than I thought I would be! I am working from 8 am to 5 pm.

But overall I'm soo happy to have a job. I went shopping as early as Wednesday because I felt like I deserved to treat myself for working so hard, lol. And I feel more useful

I know it's a summer job... but I remember looking forward to being done with college, thinking "no more homework and studying."
Of course I got a job that I ended up working 10 - 12 hour days, often on the weekends, and did nothing but learn new stuff and take tests and have to study to get all my licenses for several years - and after rule/regulation changes, had to do it again 20 years later. Thank goodness I took advantage of enjoying what time I could in college and never took high school very seriously at all.

...as to the remembering names thing, I'm terrible at it, so whenever I met someone new - I always say "It's so nice to meet you so-and-so - I'm terrible with names, so please forgive me if I need to ask you again." Makes it easier to not feel like a dummy for having to ask again.
