I'm happy to hear that Chemul is feeling better. You are taking wonderful care of her!

Hopefully the mother can also now be trapped, spayed, and, if possible, even dewormed...

Oh I doubt we'll ever catch the mother. She is extremely vicous and has been around for years.

We are still looking for two of the kittens though. We couldn't catch them on thursday. I doubt we'll catch those now either, but we're still trying.

I just gave her a teaspoon of food, which she wolfed right down, so thats a good sign, and she took her meds no problem.
I did notice though that she's very shaky, could that he just because she's not feeling well??
She is such a sweet kitten. I hope she's going to be ok.

She was probably starting to get shaky or clumsy from not eating. Call the emergency vet back if you're really concerned.

Ok, i guess i'll give her an hour or so to let the food get into her system, and if she's still shaking, ill have to give them a call.

I'm probably over-worrying, but I havn't taken in a small kitten in a long time, and I am a completely in love with this little girl.

OK, keep trying. Either the regular doctor or emergency vets. Does she seem to be in a lot of pain ? I know the parasites wouldn't wait, but if Chemul is before five weeks - that is still so young to give a kitten commercial dewormer...

Just got off the phone with the vet. He wants me to stop the anti-diarrhea meds and said if she doesn't poo my tommorrow morning, then she has to go back to the vets AGAIN.
The poor thing looks so uncomfortable. She's waddling and walking with her back legs spread wide.

I don't know why I can't ever have an animal whos healthy and has no issues- its seems like all the sick ones find ME. Not that I'm really complaining, but I do find it a little funny, in a not so humorous way.

Just checking in on the little baby (I've forgotten her name? Is it Chamal, or is that someone elses kitten?)

I know how you feel, the special needs cats always seem to find me, too. My vet's theory is nature has a way of matching them up with the people who can do the most for them.

Keep us posted on her progress, hope she has pooped by now.

She pooed an hour before I was going to bring her in, lol. She also had another poo a few hours ago, so I think her bowels have settled down now.

I'm going to keep her on the vet food tommorow, then start to switch her over. Does anyone know a good food thats easy on the stomach?? I was feeding Merick cause it was the only one I could get to at the time, but I prefer to feed grain free.

Did you find something she likes ? ;-)

I would suggest Wellness Healthy Kitten dry food or Wellness canned chicken or kitten formula because they are of course known for having premium ingredients, one of the best. Although even a lot of cats with otherwise iron stomachs get finicky with it, so it might not taste exactly right.

Next you might want to check out Holistic Select (formerly Eagle Pack) Kitten Formula Kitten Food, besides Fancy Feast the only other food my cats go bananas for (and the only one they get). Also very flavorful, good quality, low carb and high protein.

I got her some Wellness canned kitten food. Not sure if she's going to like it or not, since I just gave her some a few minutes ago.
I can't get her to eat dry food though. Its almost like she doesn't know what it is.
Any suggestions?

Soak it and mash it down then over few days add a few bits of dry if she eats mash but refuses the dry added back off a few days. Royal Canin makes a baby cat food for the younger set (4-12 week maybe? dont have a bag)

She doesn't need dry food, wet is better for her, so don't worry about it.

Will she be ok just getting two meals of wet food a day though?? I figured I'd put some dry food in there for if she gets hungry during the day, but like I said, she doesn't know what it is.
