Frosty (who is adorable! His picture is in the story) survived 4 weeks, maybe longer, inside a refrigerated warehouse in England that is kept at a constant 28*F/-2*C. His ears and tail had to be amputated due to frostbite, but other than that he's a healthy boy who apparently survived eating frozen peas.

Talk about a feel good story.
We all need more of those!

A side note: You never know where you'll find stories like this. I read the weekly e-newsletter from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to see if there are any stories that are of direct interest to our company. That's where this story was featured.

What a shame the RSPCA wasn't brought in much sooner to rescue him. What the heck was wrong with those employees, how hard is it to pick up a phone and ask for rescue help?

Why didn't they at least give him food since they knew he was in there?

I'm glad the kitty survived (and I think the name Frosty is in poor taste) but his suffering could have been prevented.

I hope he doesn't have lasting effects from the lack of nutrition. At least peas do have SOME protein. Smart kitty to know what the best thing for him would be among frozen vegetables. That's a long time to go without taurine, though.

I hope the person adopting him realizes this cat may have special health problems.

I couldn't read the story because I'm really emotional, and the thought of a kitty in that situation is too sad to begin with - but I already know it has a happy ending, so thank you for that!

for the kitty through life!
