We've had a breakthrough!!!!

So, we've had Danny for a year now. Luke and Danny didn't get along from the beginning. They hissed at each other every time they were within six feet of each other. Luke would bully Danny all the time. There would be fights all the time. No major fights, since they both just slap and run away, but fights.

There has been very very slow progress though. Now they mostly ignore each other and will lay within a few feet of each other. Danny has gotten to where he'll stand up for himself a bit more, which has made Luke back off.

BUT. Just now I was in the bathroom, and of course Danny was right there rubbing on my legs (all my kitties LOVE the bathroom). Luke came up and Danny started yelling at him (that's all I can describe it as, it's not a hiss or a growl, just a very very high pitched meow, he does this all the time). Luke walked away and Danny followed him and sniffed his butt. Luke turned around and Danny started yelling and crouched down, but instead of slapping Danny, Luke leaned down and LICKED HIM ON THE HEAD!!! Of course Danny seemed very confused and ran back in the bathroom with me.

I know they're never going to be friends, but this is such a huge step! I'm in shock! Anyway, just had to share!

Woohoo!! That's progress! Maybe they'll reach a peaceful co-existence and actually be able to trust each other enough to keep the peace. That's the way my 2 girls live. Not snuggle buddies, but they now like each other and can peacefully co-exist. It only took about 2 years!
