Hi everyone!

Sorry for posting this late. I have the day off and slept in.

What do you like to do when you take a day off in the middle of the week. Do you like to just lounge around? Do you treat is as a "ME DAY"? Or are you on the go all day?

Normally for me, every day I take off is to take DH to the doctor, but I canceled the appointment for today. I am just going to lounge about, play on the computer and do laundry. I hope to call an attorney to handle DH's disability claim.

It's so funny you should ask this today, as I have the day off!!

My job is part-time and very flexible, which is good. And today I was going to take my boyfriend to a Mets game for his birthday (they're having an afternoon game). But then, we heard it was supposed to rain all day, and even if that changed, it was going to be intermittent showers and cold. I've been at Citifield a couple of times so far this season when it was cold, and I just didn't feel like doing that, and neither did he, so I basically have the day to myself! Yay!

I have a couple of plays to read, a reading to work on that I'm doing on Saturday, and I should go shopping, but it's icky outside. I'm staying in. I'm going to a concert tonight.

But, they gave me tomorrow off, too, so I can go shopping tomorrow!

I love time to myself!

I tend to have a lot of the holidays off that my DH does not (Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, MLK Day, etc.), so when I don't work, I usually spend the day ripping through the house...a good thorough vacuuming, dusting, washing the floors, etc. I may wash bathrooms curtains or otherwise clean something that's not a part of my weekly cleaning routine. Maybe clean out a closet or some drawers. I may wash down all the walls in the living room. Things like that that I don't normally have the time to do.

I try to have a nicer than usual meal, complete with dessert, since we don't normally have dessert that often anymore. And I spend time with the furkids, too.

DH always loves to come home from work when he knows that I've been home all day. The house is shining, there are good smells coming from the kitchen and his wife is in a great mood. I love being home. I know that I'd get bored eventually if I was a stay-at-home wife, but it's nice to have those days off work.

I find that my hours away from work go by a lot faster than the hours do when I'm working!

I guess this question doesn't pertain to me since I am retired and I'm off everyday. I love being retired and take full advantage of it. I get out of bed anytime I feel like it and do anything I want for the rest of the day. I would never want to have to go to work again, I never liked anyone telling me what to do and when to do it. My life is now more full with Russell in it and I am enjoying being retired more now than ever.

Usually days off are "on the go" days for me - running a million errands throughout the day. Every so often though I'll take an entire day off to do maybe an hour of errands and then relax with a book & the kitties the rest of the day.

Well I have 3 days off during the week. I try to squeeze all my errands and me time into those days.It should be easy but it isn't. Now that one day is taken up volunteering (oh I gotta get that in) I have one day for errands and one day for me.

I have today off too
but not by choice. And by the looks of things I probably won't be getting back to work until sometime next week. Yesterday morning I slipped at work and when I put my hand down to catch myself, I put it right on a 6 inch nail which went right through my hand
. I'm going to the doctor in about an hour. So today I'll probably just be cuddling on the couch with the kitties
.

But usually, I go to the gym for a couple hours and then relax for the rest of the day.

Usually my days off in the middle of the week are filled with school, but since I just took my last finals (WOHOO!), I'll actually have full days off!!

My days off are a combo. I lounge around in the morning, get errands done in the early afternoon, then come home and do chores around the house. I also like to cook on my days off. Most nights I cook easy stuff that can be on the table (well, so to speak, more like on the lap on the couch,
) in less than an hour. I like to try out new recipes or cook favorites that take longer on days off.

My main pleasure when I'm off is reading though. I'll end up reading half a book throughout the day.
