Well, its very early Tues morning here, so I figured I'd get the QOTD out there for ya'll.

Is there something you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet?

(ex.... go skydiving, take a vacation somewhere exotic, tell someone you love them, etc.....)

Why haven't you done it yet?

I would dearly love to go to Ireland for two weeks. For our 25th wedding anniversary (many year ago), DH started to make plans for us to take an anniversary vacation. I won't go because I'm too cowardly to fly. (Flew to Vegas once and have never gotten on a plane since. I didn't really enjoy the week in Vegas either because I didn't want to get on the darn plane to come back home.)

DH still tells me, "Look, say the word and we're there!" He was just talking about it again the other night because next year is our 40th anniversary and he would like to take me to Ireland for that. But I'm too scared to get on the plane.

I would love to go to England or Ireland too, but can't get on a plane either. Flew a couple of times, a rosery in my hand the whole time and I never un did the seat belt.

It sounds as if we're all afraid to fly! I would love to see Ireland & Scotland, but the thought of being in a plane over all that water scares me to death. Then, of course, there's the cost. Plus, I hate to travel. *sigh*

I'd also love to live in the country, just far enough from town for some privacy. I'd have a couple of horses, several dogs, maybe a few sheep. Again, the cost factor makes it prohibitive.

I want to go to Ireland as well as my grandfather was born in Belfast. We haven't gone yet as its very expensive. I don't have a problem flying but my DH is but he takes a small pill under his tongue to calm him down. He is getting braver and in January we flew to San Francisco. He was excellant and decided not to take anything.

I would love to travel to the Holy Land. Visit where Jesus grew up, where He walked and preached. I would love to visit England and Australia too. I would also like to see more of my Country too, such as Hawaii, Alaska and other states that have beautiful scenery

Yes, I would love to go to Graceland and see where Elvis lived. Then I would also love to go to Salt Lake City to investigate the Latter Day Saints collection of genealogy information.

Absolutely agree!!

Someone I used to work with was on a mission to visit all of the continents and had 2 left to do just before I left that job. Her trip last year was to Antarctica. I would love to see all of the continents, starting with Africa, then Australia, South America, then who knows after that (I've only been to North America and Europe). What holds me back is the money. I love, love, love to travel!

Something? How about win a big lottery? That would solve all the cost issues for the other things I'd like to do!
...I'd have to actually buy lotto tickets first, though.

You know what, this is a tough question to answer since I've pretty much done everything I wanted to do. I've traveled to Europe a couple of times, saw a lot of the US and lived in a couple of different States including CA. I wouldn't mind going back to CA and check out my old haunts but flying right now is out with me too. I'm not afraid of the plane going down, I'm afraid of the terrorists who might get on the plane. I don't think we will ever be done with them.

Soooo right now my life is going well, I've done what I wanted to do and am in a good place right now.

I chose the word purposely because it could be the somethings others have described, or it could be something emotional rather that a physical thing to do.

I've always wanted to go see the Grand Canyon..... I have not been able to due to money issues/timing/etc.

As well, there is a lot I would like to say to someone, but I haven't. Why? Because to me the timing has not been right, nor do I want to appear
or
.

Hence the use of the word "something"

I'm very lucky and have had the opportunity to do so many things, see so many places, live in so many different environments, try so many foods, marry the man of my dreams... at this point, I'm going to have to say it really just boils down to wanting to meet people in "real life" that I've met online. No big lifetime goals hanging out there at this point.

I would like to join Chernobyl Children's Project International (CCPI) and travel to the Ukraine and Belarus, and participate on the surgical teams there. I have always been interested in that area of the world. I remember the Chernobyl disaster when it happened, and I have always wished I was able to help those who were affected by it. I'd love to put my surgical skills to work helping the children of Chernobyl.

Why have I not done it? Part of me is terrified of the horror that I might witness. Part of me is frightened that I could have my heart broken by what I might see, and the helplessness I would feel. I have made a few inquiries about volunteering, but as of yet, I'm unable to financially bear the time committment. Never say "never" though...I hope to be able to do it someday.

I want to travel to Europe, but with work, school, and not having the funds to do it, I can't ... YET!
