Wow. It makes me thankful for my view. I just look out at fields with wheat planted there. I am glad to live in the country.

I love this city. Sometimes I just gasp looking out the window, still agog that I live in NYC - the energy of the place feeds me....and that's after almost 40 years living here.

Nothing like New York, New York, where people never sleep. What a beautiful view, sometimes you just can't beat city living with everything right at your feet. I'm right next door to you in NJ and will probably never leave.

Very nice. I so miss NYC... I lived in Bethlehem, PA until 3 years ago, about 1.5 hours from the city, and often on a Saturday I'd wake up and just decide to drive to NJ, take the NJ Transit train into Penn Station, and send a few texts to see if any of my NYC friends wanted to meet for a beer in Brooklyn. And if no one was around, well I still had fun on my own. Probably the only city I always felt comfortable in even by myself, even on the subway at night.

Well, lots of grass up in Central Park. No cows (yet).
But lots of wildlife - pheasants, a coyote, hawks, raccoons, ducks, geese. If I see a cow, I'll let you know.

I am glad you love it!

I am a country girl, I would be soooo depressed if I looked out the window and saw that every day. LOL!
It does look like a nice place to visit though, some of those buildings are amazing!!!

I don't mind the country, and like to get away and soak in the silence and open space, but after a couple of weeks at the most.....it's enough for me.

Wow! You look to be right in the heart of things. What's that cool zig-zaggy glass building?
I'd love to go to NYC. We keep meaning to get a trip organized, but it hasn't come together yet.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Yup, love New York's energy! I always felt safe traveling around the city too.
I lived on the upper west side (in what was Spanish Harlem) for almost two years during college, then after that in Astoria for... 7 years. Couldn't afford Manhattan (and Spanish Harlem had mostly been gentrified by then).
But I got those views working in Manhattan.

I totally understand loving waking up to that every day - it's an amazing view!
But I love our quiet life out in NW NJ now. When we left in 1994, it was always nice to visit (especially since we did get to stay for weeks/a month or so at a time, almost always at the NY Palace in a suite at the company's expense - that didn't hurt
).

And yeah - what is that cool zig-zaggy glass building?

Thank you for sharing!

Me too, I loved visiting the country but you can take the quiet just so long. I guess it's just what we're used too. The country and the city both have their beautiful scenery, they are just very different.

Wow you have a good view, looks like you are right in the heart of things. I have visited NY once and really enjoyed it, we stayed at the Manderin oriental and I am not quite sure but I think that is the 2 towers you can see from your place. I live right in the heart of the country but I like to go to a city occaisionly just to make sure there is still a world out there

Yeah! The Mandarin is right in those two towers! That's the Time Warner building. You were right at Columbus Circle, one of the entrances to Central Park. I run by there all the time. Whole Foods is in the downstairs of that building.

The zig-zaggy building is the Hearst Building. The base of it was deemed a landmark, because the original building was built in the 1920's, and so it has this six-story base, which is very art-deco, and this very wild looking tower rising up from it. It won an award for best skyscraper in the world in the year that it was completed. Here's a link to a pic on Wikipedia. It's a pretty cool building.
