If they have issue with hormones.
Attitude ended up with mastitis which is rare in spayed cats.

If they are fixed while lactating they are able to continue lactating until their kittens are weaned.

Yeah, what she said if the cat is nursing. I thought you were asking if they could start to lactate, not continue to. Sorry, I'm not with it today.

I have actually heard of neutered males lactating under the right conditions. I'm sure spayed females can, too. It's not common, though, and if she just started doing it I'd contact a vet.
